Willow Lakes Lodges Reviews

"Excellent break, very peaceful and relaxing"
Lou - Jul 2022
"Fantastic lodges, very relaxing, the fishing is great with a wet stocked lake and the owners can't do enough for you - we will definitely be returning"
Verified Guest - May 2022
"Really lovely lodge in a quiet location. Staff all very friendly and welcoming."
Derek - May 2022
"Great service . Fantanatic view. High quality accommodations."
Nan - Apr 2022
"The owners was very helpful, she was always available to help with our questions and concerns. The lodge was very clean and had all the facilities you could possibly want. The hot tub was a great addition. The a-z guide was very helpful, it detailed all the local amenities and attractions. The park was very clean and quiet. We would highly recommend and will be returning again soon."
Luke - Apr 2022
"It really was the perfect place to stay for a quiet and restful few days away. Close enough to Grimsby to visit the Fishing Heritage Museum along with the Time Trap museum. The accommodation is contemporary, spotlessly clean and extremely comfortable, albeit the double beds seemed small compared to our Super-king at home and mattress was certainly harder. Overall it was fantastic."
Ian - Apr 2022
"This was exactly what we needed! After a stressful few months we just wanted to get away from it all and relax. That's exactly what this holiday and location allowed us to do. Loved the quiet, nature and especially the hot tub! The owners Jo and Laurence were really helpful and the one slight snag we had was sorted out immediately. We will definitely be returning. A brilliant place for rest and relaxation and a relatively short drive to cleethorpes, Mablethorpe ,and a little further afield, Skegness for the seaside. Or a short drive to Louth for a pleasant little market town."
Glenn - Apr 2022
"Our stay at the shift cabin was an amazing break for the family made better by the friendliness of Jo and husband who made our stay really comfortable and easy. The location was lovely and the lodge itself was the best we haver ever stayed in. We will definately be coming back for a long stay soon!"
Sara - Mar 2022
"This is our second stay at Willow Lakes. The first time the weather was continuous sunshine. The second time (bearing in mind it was early Spring) the weather was changeable and colder, but it didn't matter. We enjoyed the surrounding area and the accommodation was first class."
Norman - Mar 2022
"The staff here couldn’t have been any more lovely. I do however recommend to book directly through them rather then through a 3rd party. I had such an amazing relaxing break away here with the girls"
Toni - Nov 2021
"Fantastic break away. Lodge is beautiful everything you need. The view of the lake from our room was so lovely. Info book is in the lodge showing details of shops, restaurants, takeaways etc . Staff are lovely. Great Fishing We will definately be going back."
Patricia - Nov 2021
"Great location. Made an excellent base to explore the area and for relaxing. It is highly likely that we will return (at a different time of year) to get the benefit of some of the other facilities that were on offer."
Graham - Nov 2021
"Amazing! Fabulous place x"
Audrey - Nov 2021
"Have a fab weekend away, staff (Rachael) was there to help at the end of the phone/email almost straight away. Cant thank her enough. A few lovely pubs in the village, a very good 50mins walk though."
Tracy - Mar 2020
"Cant say anymore but brilliant"
John - Jan 2020
"Very comfortable lodge and clean. Some work required, particularly in bathrooms. Main bathroom; sink plug needs repairing, taps loose, shower bracket almost coming off wall tatty paintwork on door frames, blind disgusting. En suite; shower door very stiff. Blinds pretty awful generally, including the one in the main room with the broken mechanism behind the television."
David - Dec 2019
"We stayed in swan lodge. Lovely accommodation with amazing views of the lake. Nice sunken hot tub and good Wi-fi. The lodge contained all amenities needed. Each staff member I spoke to was very friendly and helpful. We will definitely be staying here agsin"
Sarah - Nov 2019
"We stopped in the Swift lodge as Teal lodge was being refurbished, but absolutely amazing place to stay"
Sam - Oct 2019
"Had a lovely week, would not hesitate to go back"
Sara-jane - Oct 2018
"Very nice and relaxing location"
Andrew - Oct 2018
"Had fantastic time going to book next year"
Graham - Jul 2017
"as previously stated everything spot on! the hot tub was great it would have been better if it had been under cover as we went at the beginning of March but it was lovely once in the water, and the lights in tub didn't work Comfort of beds excellent and furnishing sturdy and good"
Maureen - Mar 2016
"Lovely well-maintained lodge in an idyllic location."
Steven - Nov 2015
"High quality furnishings and comfortable beds. The lodge was clean throughout. One criticism would be the wifi code and telephone numbers in the welcome pack need updating. Also some guests had reviewed they were welcomed with champagne and chocolates, we did not receive this luxury despite booking a 5 night stay. Complementary hand wash/ soap would have been nice too"
Verity - Aug 2015
"the lodge was amazing and had everything would would need- iron, washing machine, clothes horse and dish washer (no tablets though)"
Samantha - Jan 2015
"Beautiful place but let down slightly by cleaning, a few cobwebs and skirting board in bathroom very dusty .
Not enough baking trays ect we went for a xmas get together but struggled with what kitchen equipment was available ( baking trays ect )
Other than that it is a beautiful lodge"
David - Dec 2014
"See above. one word describes the interor and exterior stunning! Well presented and well maintained."
Iain - Nov 2014
"Great holiday, great location. In future make sure there's enough toilet paper and the soap dispensers have soap in them please.
Would love to stay again some time."
Nick - Aug 2014
"Beautiful Lodge, clean and modern. Need smaller dinner plates to fit in microwave."
Sharon - Jul 2014
"The Lodge was beautiful but we were a little disappointed by a couple of niggly things. The lamps in the living room didn't work & the main lights were quite bright so we used bedroom lamps for lighting. The light out by the hot tub didn't work. There was a dirty glass left on one of the bedside units & we would have liked to have had access to the heating timer as during the day it was very cold & it was obviously set to a timer.
The plates were too big to fit in the dishwasher so that was a waste of time but there were no dishcloths.
We did still enjoy our stay though, it is beautifully located & very peaceful, It was the break we were looking for & we will definitely visit again."
Lisa - Feb 2014
"It was super. If I had to be 'picky' I would say that there was rather a lot of dust on the floors but then there were wooden floors which attracts dust."
Jennifer - Jan 2014
"A beautiful place set in stunning surroundings, first class lodge with all you could wish for. The owners couldnt do enough for you and are just so accommodating, friendly and just lovely people."
Wesley - Jan 1970
"Have a fab weekend away, staff (Rachael) was there to help at the end of the phone/email almost straight away. Cant thank her enough. A few lovely pubs in the village, a very good 50mins walk though."

"We stayed in swan lodge. Lovely accommodation with amazing views of the lake. Nice sunken hot tub and good Wi-fi. The lodge contained all amenities needed. Each staff member I spoke to was very friendly and helpful. We will definitely be staying here agsin"
Sarah - Jan 1970
"We stopped in the Swift lodge as Teal lodge was being refurbished, but absolutely amazing place to stay"
Sam - Jan 1970
"Where can I start!? We had the most fantastic and relaxing break which is exactly what we were looking for.

Check in: On arrival we checked in with ease with Jo, and then Lawrence took us down to our lodge and showed us how to use the heating system should it be required. Both extremely friendly and helpful.

Kingfisher Lodge: The accommodation is just wonderful. A very spacious open plan living area that was spotlessly clean. Two large sofa's enough for 6 to sit comfortably, with a console table and a smart TV so you can make the most of Netflix, Prime and other online tv services. Extremely good wi-fi coverage throughout the lodge.

There is also a 6 seater dining area, a breakfast bar area and a well equipped kitchen. In the kitchen there is a half size dishwasher so no need to wash up, a full size fridge and freezer with plenty of room to stock up for your stay, a washer/dryer and an abundance of cupboard space. A welcome touch was the provision of dishwasher tablets and washing up liquid and scouring sponge and alcohol hand gel.

Onto the bedrooms. Lovely and spacious with very comfortable mattresses and fluffy, cloud like pillows and duvets. All rooms had blackout blinds which was a welcome touch with the early sunrise, alongside curtains. Plenty storage space with wardrobes in each room with some hangers provided and a set of drawers. The master bedroom and other 'double' room had bedside lights with a clock and the twin room had a bedside light.

In the master bedroom is an en-suite with a rainfall shower - just bliss after a day out walking.
The main bathroom was very spacious with a bath with shower over. No issues with availability of hot water. Plenty towels provided (6 large and 6 small) and bath mats in each bathroom.

The large outdoor veranda had a table and 6 chairs provided giving lovely views out over Willow Lake. Plenty of sun from early morning until around 3pm but by that time shade was a welcome reprieve. Very close to the water so you could see the fish and we had the pleasure of seeing the geese and their goslings, and several moorhen's with their chicks.

We don't fish, but the lake was well stocked with large fish, and saw keen anglers and the owner's son's partaking in fishing which looked a lot of fun and plenty catch was landed (and safely returned to the water).

Lots of opportunity on the site for walks, we enjoyed walking up the hill to the top and running down the large field. There is a livery with many horses too. If you prefer different accommodation there is also holiday cottages and pitches for tents up by a smaller lake.

A review couldn't go by without giving a proper thank you to the owners Lawrence and Jo. Absolutely nothing was too much trouble - absolute superstars who are very proud of their business. They leave their mobile numbers in the lodge so you can contact them at any time if you need help. They also live on site so are very local should issues arise.

A lot of pride is taken in the upkeep of the site and there was always tidying, planting of new flowers and fauna and mowing being undertaken to keep it looking perfect.

We will definitely be back to Willow Lakes Lodges in the future."
Rebecca - Jan 1970

Attractions Near Willow Lakes Lodges

Here are some of the activities and experiences you can enjoy on your visit to Willow Lakes Lodges. If you discover a worthy inclusion to this list on your hot tub break, please let us know and we'll add it so that other visitors can enjoy it too.
Pleasure Island - DN35 0PL
about 6 Miles
Wow this is an amazing family theme park and you will probably need the full day to experience it all.  From thrilling rides to family shows, kids of all ages are catered for.  Some of the most popular rides include the Obliterator and The Pendulus, not forgetting the Hypoblaster.   Family shows are entertaining such as the African Acrobat Show which is back by popular demand.  Entrance tickets are good value and if you book online you will receive a discount. To save even more money if you live locally or are visiting the area for a few weeks you could buy a season ticket for around £50 which will allow you entry for the whole season.
The Jungle Zoo - NR31 9EY
about 6 Miles
Centred around a Tropical House in an amazing jungle like setting this is a really unique attraction that will appeal to families.  In the Cleethorpes area of Lincolnshire it's easy to get to and offers a fun yet educational experience.  Referred to as the number one attraction in the area highlights include capuchin monkeys, meerkats, ring tailed lemur and for the children African pygmy goats.  The tropical house features Red Eared and other Terrapins from North America and goldfish amongst other things.  We think The Jungle Zoo represents excellent value for money too.  We recommend a whole day to explore this attraction and ensure you get to see all of the animals resident there.
Rushmoor Country Park - GU10 1ET
about 10 Miles
Located in Louth in Lincolnshire this is an ideal attraction when you want to get out in the fresh air and explore. There are many animals to see including ponies and piglets which the little ones love.  There are also some amazing birds from hawks and falcons to owls.  Most aspects of this attraction are included in the admission cost and as well as wandering around you get to hold and feed the animals too.  A real highlight are the micro pigs which are just like real pigs but in miniature.  Fully grown they are around the size of a spaniel!  If you get hungry then you can take your own picnic to the picnic areas or head for the tea room selling delicious food and children's meals too.
The Deep - HU1 4DP
about 19 Miles
Easily accessible from our Yorkshire Dales lodge parks is The Deep! An award-winning 'submarium', attraction, which is home to over 3500 fish from around the globe. Visitors can a stroll through Europe's deepest viewing tunnel and take a thrilling a glass lift ride through the 10m deep tank. The Deep is also home to the world's largest exhibition, featuring weird animals from the depths combined with slime! Educational talks and events take place daily so visitors can learn about the conservation projects which the centre is involved in. There is also a fantastic restaurant over looking some of the displays and a souvenir shop. Family tickets are priced at just £32.00.
Normanby Hall Country Park - DN15 9HU
about 24 Miles
Normanby Hall Country Park has a fantastically tranquil location Set in the 300 acres of Normanby Hall estate offering a relaxing choice for a family day out. The stunning grounds are abundant with wildlife as well as beautiful flora and fauna and there is no better place for a summer picnic. There is also plenty of open space for children to run around. The Deer park is sure to be a big hit with the children with herds of fallow deer to spot.
Natureland Seal Sanctuary - PE25 1DB
about 30 Miles
Awarded the Lincolnshire Family Attraction of the Year award in recent years this fun day out is recommended. You can see seals and penguins, as well as other animals in the popular pets corner.  Feeding time for the seals and penguins is the real highlight of the day. Entertainment, education and conservation are the main aims of this attraction. Natureland's work with abandoned baby seals has become known worldwide and it's carefully researched rearing and treatment program is now used by many other rescue centres.
