Whether you’re booking a budget break for a stag or hen party, or looking for a family accommodation packed with pure luxury, there are some fantastic lodges with hot tubs around the country.
Some cottages and lodges can sleep up to 18 guests or more but you can also pick a property that suits whatever size party you’re traveling with. 10,12 and 15 guests for example. It’s worth booking one with a little extra capacity in case someone else decides to pitch up last minute and doesn’t fancy sleeping on the sofa. That said, if this is a stag or hen weekend, sleep is probably the last thing on people’s minds!
No group getaway would be complete without a whopping hot tub to jump into. While it’s not going to fit everyone at once, there’s always plenty of outdoor space to relax, get the tunes on and enjoy a drink with friends and family. If you’re booking a large cottage or a lodge, our advice is always to look for one with a hot tub. They’re not that much more money and are tons of fun.

One thing that’s worth checking is how far away the nearest bar is. Some of these larger group rentals can be a bit… in the middle of nowhere let’s say. Fine if you want to get away from it all but if a weekend with a bit more to see and do is your thing, check if the bar is within walking distance. A lot of lodges will have an onsite bar and restaurant. Perfect.
If taking a dip in your hot tub isn’t going to cut it, there’s nothing quite like making a splash with your friends and family in your very own private swimming pool. One of the advantages of booking up a bigger property is you can often find one with its own pool. Chill out next to it, unwind or just go crazy. If you’re taking a larger family, a pool can be a godsend when it comes to entertaining the children too.
We talk a lot about lodges here but a lot of the bigger properties will actually be classed as cottages. And as they’re bigger rentals some of them are these massive grade 2 listed buildings that have been around for hundreds of years. Fancy a 14-bedroom mansion with its own billiards room? No problem. Some of these larger cottages are packed with character and make for an unforgettable holiday not to mention some fab photos of your party living it up in style.
