For days out you could head into the historic city of York itself and take in the lovely atmosphere, cobbled streets and array of independant shops alongside some well known brands. We love the street called The Shambles which is full of gorgeous shops and unique items to view and buy. York Minster is at the heart of the city and is a majestic sight. Families with young children will love the York Viking Museum and the fantastic park. If you want to take a boat trip then take a walk down the riverside where you can enjoy a boat ride along the river and hear about the history of York as you go. Outside of the city centre there are plenty of brilliant places to visit for days out such as the stunning Castle Howard where Ellie Goulding held her wedding reception, or the family favourite The Forbidden Corner for a day of fun adventures.
