Loch Ness Highland Resort Reviews

"Slightly dated in a few places that needed a touch up or repair. May well be not done yet as a lot of work on going before main season.Value for money was great, design lovely. Hot tub enjoyable esp. with the stunning views. Missing an outdoor table to go with the chairs. But over all would go again as had a great time."

"Under new ownership, hoping they can continue the work and grow this area as untapped land at the moment."
Steven - Apr 2024
"The caravan was well presented."
Clifford - Apr 2024
"We had the most amazing 2 nights. Lodge was very spacious and beautiful. Hot tub was great and felt we had privacy due to fencing around it"
Stephanie - Jan 2024
"We had a fantastic weekend and all the staff were lovely. Very accommodating to allow us an early check in. Upon check in all amenities of the accommodation were explained to us. Hot tub was kept very clean. Highly recommend."
Shaun - Jan 2024
"Perfect lodge, Clean, great location and excellent price"
Sean - Jan 2024
"We had a very nice stay but the beds were small and had to sleep on the sofa and the utensils and cooking were a bit short"
Joan - Jan 2024
"We booked a very last minute trip away for New Years and got a really good deal for our accommodation which included a hot tub. We were greeted by some really friendly staff and even gifted a bottle of wine for New Years Eve. We were shown to pur accommodation and shown how to use the hot tub. The accommodation was lovely, clean and well equipped. The site was nice. The restaurant wasn't open due to the time of year we went but we were well prepared with our own food. Fort Augusta was beautiful and we enjoyed some lovely scenic walks. The location of the site was great. Thank you for a lovely short stay."
Sarah - Jan 2024
"Beautifully maintained resort within easy walking distance of the village. Staff were friendly and approachable, the playground was fun for the kids and the views were stunning."
Barnie - Jan 2024
"No happy with them. While we've been there, a storm caused the electricity to be off for our last day.Nobody came to check on us, even if they knew we have kids..I know is not their fault the power was off but they didn't even if offer us a torch or just to ask if we are ok knowing that we've been trapped there for 24 hours. And on the future they might consider to install generator for emergencies like this. ."

Carrie-Anne - Nov 2023
"A lovely park in a great location, cant comment on restaurant or activity programme, didnt use the restaurant and wasnt aware of an activity programme. The site is so well maintained, everything is clean and tidy. The staff were so helpful and welcoming. Hank showed us around the lodge, explained how everything worked and was more than happy to answer any questions. Such a peaceful place to relax. The lodge was amazing with everything you could possibly need. The site is very close to the local town which has local gift shops, restaurants takeways, everything you need it right on the doorstep. The site has some amazing views and sitting at the bottom of Loch Ness its the perfect base to exploring the local area. Will definitely be back again."

"Brilliant & cosy cottage far enough out the way to be secluded but close enough to local amenities. Amazing hotub & bathroom with underfloor heating throughout tops it off. The owners, Rob & Sharon are wonderful! (And of course Bonnie) Will definitely be coming back again for longer ASAP!!"
Christopher - Apr 2024
"Beautiful cottage with hot tub and log burner. lovely hosts, peaceful, perfect for our mini break. Hope to return for longer soon!"
Emma - Apr 2024
"Really well equipped house, lovely and warm too which was so nice on a rainy December day! Bath was just lovely and a nice big shower! The property is under a flight path - this did not disturb us at all! Dont be put off! A great location for dogs who hate fireworks as it's in the middle of nowhere. Really beautiful, well converted property. Thank you! "
Phoebe - Apr 2024
"It was everything we wanted for our weekend away and we loved staying here. We'll definitely be back! Our pups absolutely loved the underfloor heating and had so much fun in the garden. In fact Luna came home with a strained tail and according to the vet it was because she was wagging it so much over the weekend!! Very happy pups and hoomans!"
Andrew - Apr 2024
"Lovely cottage. Great location for us. Away from the hustle and bustle. Great hot tub . Lovely helpful non intrusive owners. They have it just right!"
Simon - Apr 2024
"Absolutely loved how well maintained and equipped this cottage is. Plenty of dog walks right on the doorstep. Very friendly host, they were so efficient and communication was excellent. We enjoyed meeting the animals on the farm and the very curious pig penelope. Perfect escape for us and the doggos. Will definitely be back, brilliant value!! Highly recommend. "
Brooke - Apr 2024
"Beautiful property, spotlessly clean, well equipped and very comfortable, had a fabulous break, hot tub amazing x"
Libby - Apr 2024
"Very kind and considerate owners. Couldnt be better. Enormously helpful and extremely pleasant. Charming half-timbered cottage with a great strong shower, cosy kitchen & living room combination and very comfortable bed. Fantastic parking directly next to the rented cottage. Well heated and very charming, and spotlessly clean. Great walks across the fields to the local village of Thaxted and of course within easy travelling distance of the village, replete with half-timbered houses and windmill. "
James - Apr 2024
"We had a wonderful time in Goddard Mead. The cottage was very complete and there were walks on the doorstep. The welcome and stay was very warm. The owners are lovely people."
Annemieke - Apr 2024
"The owners Rob & Sharon, have gone to a great deal of work to sympathetically convert this historic building & we couldn't have had a warmer greeting from them both & of course Bonnie. Goddard's Mead has everything you need for a relaxing and comfortable stay. The location is in a great area of Essex and would recommend taking the time to wander around Thaxted and other villages/towns nearby to discover it's fascinating history & buildings. "
Carol - Apr 2024
"Such a lovely place to stay in a really beautiful, private location. The owners were really friendly and helpful, nearby if needed but without breaking that sense of privacy. The hot tub was perfect after a day of cycling! One thing to be aware of, the cottage is right under Stansted's flight path, and so there's a lot of aircraft noise. It only took us a couple of hours to get used to it and it didn't spoil our holiday at all, but something to be aware of if you're sensitive to noise. "
Inderjit - Apr 2024
"The lovely cottage is situated on a working farm, but is very private. The owners, Robert and Sharon, are delightful. The cottage is very spacious with good equipment in the kitchen and the bathroom. The bed is really comfortable. The garden is secluded; dog proof and with good furniture. There are numerous walks around. Thaxted has good restaurants. We liked The Star and The Maypole. The Swan and the Indian are not bad either. We thoroughly recommend this place. "
Richard - Apr 2024
"We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and Sharon and Robert were great hosts and made us feel very welcome. The accommodation had everything we needed and was clean, comfortable and secure for our dog Archie. The location was ideal too with plenty of walks to find and Thaxted and surrounding villages are lovely places to visit. We felt our batteries had certainly been recharged during our week and we enjoyed our relaxing break! "
Denise - Apr 2024
"Stayed here for a week from 15 to 22 July with our 2 mini daschund girls who thoroughly enjoyed there stay making new friends in the village of thaxted. The cottage is lovely especially the hot tub a bonus as it was the hottest days of the year so the water was coolled so it was more refreshing the hosts were very welcoming was nice to see there horses being taken to the fields each day you are on the flight path near stansted but I enjoyed watching the planes come in would definitely recommend "
Sharon - Apr 2024
"Lovely accommodation, very peaceful and relaxing and great for dogs as the garden is fully inclosed"
