Date of stay: 29th May 2017
We hired a static caravan for a weeks holiday with our dog, the caravan was lovely it was clean and had fresh bedding and ample crockery, cutlery, and a good tea pot. The van had a good tv and Dvd player.
We were made very welcome and it was lovely to be able to take our dog in the bar and restaurant on tables 15 to 30. The food is very good and I can recommend the steak and ale pie, it is big and I felt absolutely stuffed when I finished it
The beer is good Cornish Tribute Ale on tap as well as cloudy cider and others.
There is a lovely pool on site and lots of entertainment for all ages, from archery to crazy golf, tennis, and many more family things to do.
We could walk our dog anywhere in the grounds and we cleaned up behind him as requested. (Starter dog bags are supplied.)
There are lakes that can be used for fishing and you can hire rods, reels etc.
Good evening entertainment.
I would recommend this holiday park for all dog owners.

A fantastic place to go to if you're looking for peace and quiet and a getaway from the smoke and hustle and bustle of city life.
Make sure you drive there though as everything else is miles away.
I would definitely go there again to escape the inner city rush to relax and take in the fresh air of country life.

Date of stay: 27th December 2016
The lodge was huge and well able to accommodate 8 people easily. Loved the open plan living area as it meant we could all be together even when cooking etc. Plenty of hot water and pressure was good. Heating was great and we even had to open the door a few times as it was too hot.
Emma, Pill, Bristol

Found the accommodation to be very warm and cosy, almost home from home! It was very clean and well equipped.
Linda, Evesham
Date of stay: 26th September 2016
The bungalow itself was well equipped but seemed a bit tired. There were picture hooks but no pictures. Cobwebs under the beds. It was quiet, with well connecting paths to Reception and parking. However, the sofas and beds were comfortable with shower and bath an asset. Television, Dishwasher, fridge, hoover, ironing board provided, but no hairdryer in the bungalow. Quite centrally situated in the area which is ideal. Various types of accommodation provided on site and we will probably stay in one of the newer basic lodges next time.

Date of stay: 22nd July 2016
The cabin smelt awful when we arrived, so all windows and doors had to be opened. I am glad I came prepared with Flash Bleach and air freshener. I had to clean the entire kitchen and clean the floor. Bathroom had a strange strong odour and radiator on full power (outside temperature was 25 degrees) had to get someone from maintenance to turn heating off and to unlock patio doors.

Some of the heaters were not working in the villa, but due to having an excellent run of weather, it wasn't too bad. Excellent size. No problem otherwise. Very sufficient

Apart from the sink being cracked and having to keep filling it up as you wash everything was great
Mark, Okehampton
Date of stay: 28th March 2016
Accommodation was very clean, but the kitchen could have done with an update, particularly appliances. We found that we had no hot water by the end of the day, not sure if this was to do with the economy 7 system, didn't worry too much as only here for a short break, but if we'd been staying longer we would have complained to the staff.
Jenny, Bristol
Date of stay: 28th March 2016
Really good for the price
Andrew, Daventry
Date of stay: 26th March 2016
Good break. Noises nesting birds in the rafters had everyone up at dawn every day. Pool not good for children that can't swim and tiled construction had right angled edges. Facilities were good over all. Staff extremely helpful. Place was clean and well presented. Great location for surroundings. Would recommend.
Hannah, Salisbury

Antoinette, Gloucestershire
Date of stay: 22nd January 2016
Cabin was smaller than the pictures looked, but it was comfortable for our family of 3. Would be a bit crowded any more than 4 people. However we liked it. A lovely quiet break after a busy Christmas was just the tonic. Hot tub was lovely. Staff were great too, extremely welcoming and helpful if we wanted anything. My son was delighted with the archery and as it wasnt busy had a whole lesson one to one. The cabin overlooked the lake and as it was so cold the trees were frosted, it just looked stunning. The indoor pool looked good however I didnt use it as I was recovering from a chest infection. One evening I was feeling quite poorly and couldnt eat my meal at the grill bar, when I had left to go and lie down the barman/waiter went to my family to see if everything was ok and check there wasnt a problem with the food (which there wasnt, they enjoyed theres) but again it leads me to the delightful hospitality and attentiveness of the people there. A real credit. So yes it was great and yes we will return. Thank you
Matthew, Exeter

Yes I would recommend Hengar Manor Park for families of all ages.
Clare, Plymstock
Date of stay: 30th October 2015
The grounds were beautiful and the lodge plus we stayed in was perfect for our family of 3 generations. We did not feel cramped at all. We particularly loved the hot tub on a rainy chilly October evening when the children were in bed. The food in the tavern was very good too.
The only two issues we had which are pretty minor is that the staircase in the lodge was very creeky (loud for people sleeping downstairs) and the chlorine used in the pool seemed particularly strong.
We would certainly visit again thanks
Russ, Cardiff

The park it self is amazing, some lodges could do with an up date this last time we were 3 couples and 4 kids but the was only one doble bed, apart from that we loved the park and the entertainment. Will be back that's for sure

Only suggestion I would make here is that it would of been helpful to have a mat at the back door when coming in from the hot tub, we were dripping water through the caravan - as an added extra hot tub towels would have been brilliant
Hannah, Bideford

We were very happy with our Waterside cabin, it was very modern and seemed fairly new. Perfectly clean, with every appliance and cooking necessity provided. The beds were comfortable, the shower was hot and spacious and the en-suite and second TV in the master bedroom a welcome luxury. There is plenty of storage for clothes and food, large fridge and freezer. The hot tub was fantastic! We were in number 14 which was right next to the lake, our 3 children fed the ducks every morning from the decking.
Suggestions.... There is no gate or fence between the cabin decking and the water, which would have been appreciated since we have a toddler and there were LOTS of wasps which was horrible as we couldn't leave the windows or doors open.
Julie, Exeter

Great space for the 2 of us, comfortable and with pleasant outlook on to the grounds. Only weak point was that the cooker wasn't the best I've had to work with, grilling food likely to take hours!

The Hengar country manor park in Bodmin is the most beautiful setting for a family break, we took our 4 children around 2 weeks ago and they have been asking to go back already. We will defiantly be returning again soon, this time however I will go for the hot tub and cottage simply because they look stunning and really cosy.
Kay, Cardiff

What a brilliant weekend, but spent all our time either in the waterside cabin or away from the site! The tennis, golf and swimming pool on site was very run down and outdated, the site needs some desperate attention!

Date of stay: 18th April 2015
The villa was spacious but could do with some updated furniture. Our cooker was still dirty from the previous occupants but we didn't complain as we had some cleaning stuff with us. Decor was clean, neutral and light. Shower was lovely at the end of the day. We were in lodge 131 at the back of the park which was very quiet but will ask for one of the lodges on the grass next to the river next time we go as these had a very nice outlook.

The bungalow we stayed in was compact but had everything you needed. My only issues were that the outdoor plastic table was cracking and the bungalow was a little dusty.
Suzanne, Long Sutton
Date of stay: 17th April 2015
The bungalow was very comfortable but could have done with an outside light. It was very dark and we had to buy a torch so we could see to put the key in the door. Also due to the lack of plug sockets in the bedroom we had no lights by the beds.

Maid's Retreat is a lovely spacious apartment with fantastic views across the gold course and the lakes, furnishings are basic but clean and for the price paid very well worth while. Plus it's lovely to stay in a manor house. The only downside are the stairs, don't stay there if you have a problem with stairs! Thoroughly worthwhile and second time we've stayed in the same apartment.

Date of stay: 22nd August 2014
We booked a Villa as it gave us 3 bedrooms which allowed our eldest child to have a room of her own. We knew that the furniture and decor would be more dated than that of the lodges but we were more interested in having a larger accommodation. When we arrived we were very pleased to find that our Villa had been re decorated, with new furniture (leather suites), flat screen TV and a dishwasher which was extremely handy. They also supplied us with a welcome pack which included some food, dish washer tablets, wine etc... The villa was also situated in a nice secluded area so we were not overlooked by anyone and was only a 2 minute walk from all the facilities. Our villa was number 127 and I would recommend anyone to ask for this one as it became a home from home for us.
Julie, Chepstow

Kate, Leeds
Date of stay: 26th July 2014
Reception staff are great. Italian restaurant is fabulous. Pub restaurant is hit and miss. Ordered the same dinner on 2 occasions first time it was great (which is why I reordered. ) 2nd time it missed half components. Bar staff need basic training. They don't take account of who is next at the bar (even when it's quiet). I walked away twice and went to the shop instead. The kids entertainment are fantastic. The park is beautiful and the caravan was the cleanest I have ever been in. The kids park is ok but for the size of the hengar manor and the amount of children there they could put more things in it. The jacuzzi in the swimming pool area was ice cold and unusable so that could be improved. On the whole we loved it. Would go back already checked prices for next year but the same week is a lot more expensive so I am shopping around now. But would recomend.

We had a lodge with 4 bedrooms for us 8. THe furnishings were good and well catering for 8 people (one set of cutlery and dishes for everyone). Table and sofa spaces were good too. Only thing missing was reasonably sized pots and pans to cook but we got two large pots when we asked for it at reception.

The cooker and oven are temperamental and not suitable for cooking a meal for a large party. The space is too narrow to fit 2, let alone 3 pots on it (despite 4 locations). Also, the heat from the cooker plates is not the same everyday - very bizarre.

Faulty kettle was replaced promptly and without query (we were given a brand new one).

A bedroom chair would have also been useful.
