"The lodge was beautiful and comfy and clean and had everything in it. The only thing I would say and this is purely personal preference is that having young children I would have liked a washing machine in the lodge but it wasnt a big deal."

"We had a fantastic stay at this cottage! The place is super well-kept and has everything you might need. There are loads of lovely walks just outside, perfect for the dogs. The host was really friendly and easy to communicate with. Meeting the farm animals, especially Penelope the pig, was a real highlight. Cant wait to come back!"

The place had everything we needed and while there were a few tiny issues like a missing TV remote and an oddly fitting toilet seat, they didnt really spoil our holiday. They made us feel so welcome right from the start and Bonnie was adorable. The location is perfect for exploring Essex, especially if you enjoy wandering around quaint villages like Thaxted. Definitely a place we'd visit again for a relaxing break. Highly recommended!"

"We booked this little trip as a surprise for our partners 50th birthday and honestly, we had a lovely time. When we arrived, the staff were super friendly and welcoming. They mentioned the hot tub would be ready around 5.30 or 6 pm, but it wasnt until late that it was heated up at 2 am - a bit of a letdown since we couldnt use it after 10 pm. The cottage itself was perfect, really cosy and warm, with everything we needed. The only minor issue was the towels - we only got two bath sheets and two hand towels and ended up using one as a mat after the bath, which wasnt ideal. Also, some outside hooks for towels would have been handy. Despite those little things, wed definitely come back. The hot tub was the highlight and wed recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxing break."

"We loved our stay at this cosy spot tucked away in such a peaceful, private area. The owners were genuinely friendly and always ready to help if needed, yet they respected our privacy completely. The hot tub was a real treat after a long day of cycling, really helped us unwind. A heads up though-it's right under Stansteds flight path, so theres quite a bit of plane noise. It didnt bother us after a while, but if you're sensitive to noise, its worth knowing. Overall, a lovely place with great hosts!"
