They greeted us warmly, along with Bonnie, which made us feel right at home. The location is perfect for exploring Essex-definitely take a bit of time to wander around Thaxted and the nearby villages; the history and architecture are quite fascinating. Its a really relaxing spot for sure!"

It didnt bother us much after a while, but if you're sensitive to noise, it's worth knowing. Overall, a great getaway!"

The only thing to keep in mind is that the cottage is under Stansteds flight path, so theres quite a bit of aircraft noise. It didnt bother us much after a while, but it might bother some sensitive sleepers. Overall, a great spot!"
