"We stayed at Goddard's Mead and were genuinely impressed. The owners, Rob & Sharon, have done a lovely job converting the historic building with care and respect. They greeted us warmly, along with Bonnie, which made us feel right at home. The location is perfect for exploring Essex-definitely take a bit of time to wander around Thaxted and the nearby villages; the history and architecture are quite fascinating. Its a really relaxing spot for sure!"

"We had such a lovely stay at this cosy place tucked away in a really peaceful spot. The owners were super friendly and always ready to help if needed, yet it still felt private. The hot tub was a real treat after cycling all day. Just a heads up, the cottage sits right under Stansted's flight path, so there's quite a bit of plane noise. It didnt bother us much after a while, but if you're sensitive to noise, it's worth knowing. Overall, a great getaway!"

The owners were super friendly and made sure we had everything we required, which was much appreciated. The hot tub was a real treat after a long day of cycling - perfect! The only thing to keep in mind is that the cottage is under Stansteds flight path, so theres quite a bit of aircraft noise. It didnt bother us much after a while, but it might bother some sensitive sleepers. Overall, a great spot!"

"We just got back from a really nice four-night stay at this cottage. The owners are super friendly and helpful without being intrusive, which we appreciated. The fenced garden was perfect for our dog to run around freely. The place had everything we needed - fully equipped kitchen and all.
