If you're looking for a blissful retreat, with indulgent spa treatments and a hydrotherapy pool on your doorstep, then Hawkchurch Resort and Spa is for you. The stylish accommodation is set within a haven of natural beauty on the Dorset/Devon border and boasts fabulous views over the Axe Valley. Just a short drive from Axminster and Lyme Regis, this is the place to relax and recharge.

The Ezina Spa has three treatment rooms as well as a gym, relaxation room, sauna and Hammam style steam room. You can take your pick from fitness classes, yoga and Pilates and when you've finished being pampered, enjoy a deliciously healthy dinner in the Bistro style restaurant which also has a luxurious bar and sun terrace.

We love the Austen Premier, a contemporary and spacious lodge with a large decking area, where you can relax in your private hot tub after a luxurious spa day. It has two king sized ensuite double bedrooms and two twin rooms as well as a spacious family bathroom with a bath and overhead shower. The lounge and kitchen is open plan and beautifully designed.

Lyme Regis is nestled around the mouth of the River Lim, and sits between the Undercliff National Nature Reserve and the stunning Blue Lias cliffs. The town has a wealth of independent shops selling gifts, clothes and jewellery. It also boasts a number of beaches and some lovely walks along the River Lym.

Our Top Tip
"South Devon and the Jurassic Coast are wonderful regions to explore."

We didn't stay in the Austen Premier. We were in a maple lodge. I had a call to say we had been upgraded but this didn't happen when I checked in. It was disappointing not to have the upgrade but we still had a nice time. This survey is on a maple lodge with no hot tub.

Our third stay at this resort. Lodges are modern, clean and well equipped. Grounds are well maintained. Relaxing environment.

Our second stay - a great place to chill Another fab stay at Hawkchurch! We arrived a Monday and were given our keys for the Quinn lodge - luxurious, spacious and with all the mod cons including massive bed, double shower, roll top bath, 2 toilets, dishwasher, washer/dryer, wine fridge, 2 massive TVs and a decking area. The hydrotherapy pool was very relaxing and pretty quiet so could easily chill out. Staff were pleasant and helpful. Can't wait for the next visit. P.s. Remembered to take our free rubber duck this time!
Heather
A lovely clean, very spacious lodge, and the park was in a nice setting. It was great that I could take my dog into the reception and bar area, the food was great too!
Browning
Third time here this year, bit disappointed with the lodge this time as sofa very stained but not a massive issue, just turned the cushions over.
Karen
Fabulous relaxing three day break, totally recommended for that sneaky get away

Fun Days Out near Hawkchurch Resort And Spa

Bicton Park and Gardens - about 18 Miles
This year round attraction has been described as Devon's most magnificent historic gardens.  Located in the Otter Valley area of East Devon you can enjoy a fun day out in a picturesque setting. Highlights include historic Palm house, containing some of the world’s most endangered species and Bicton Woodland Railway - which takes you on a 25 minute journey through the lovely grounds.  For children there is a miniature village with mini golf, nature trail and indoor play area.
This popular adventure park is full of thrills and excitement as well as having loads for younger children to take part in as well. The best theme park rides include the Tidal Wave log flume and Maximus the rollercoaster.  Other fantastic rides include the the New Vortex Watercoaster ride and the Queen Bess pirate ship.  Indoor fun is plentiful too with the Adventure Zone, the Magical Kingdom and Dina's Lost World.
Dorset Teddy Bear Museum - about 22 Miles
This family orientated museum is dedicated to Teddy Bears both old and new Edward Bear and his family of people sized bears are one of the main attractions.  You can buy teddy bear gifts from the quaint shop including top notch brands.  The Steiff Teddy Bear and Merrythought bears are very popular.  Open 7 days a week all year round (except 25th and 26th December) this is a perfect all weather place to visit.
Kingston Maurward Gardens and Animal Park is a magical place to visit with grand gardens and plenty of animals to meet.  From goats and ponies to alpacas and pot bellied pigs this attraction is excellent value for money.  You can feel free to explore the grounds too which are especially lovely on sunny days.  You will see majestic floral displays, stone terraces, a temple and even a lake.
