Perran Sands: Cornwall’s Surf Coast Escape

This park sits enjoys three miles of beach on Cornwall’s popular north coast with direct access via a coastal pathway.

The town has an interesting surf heritage too! After World War One, local undertaker Tom Tremewan heard returning soldiers talk about South African surfers and became inspired. He then shaped the UK’s very first surfboards – from coffin lids! These days, multiple surf schools operate along the beach for beginners through to advanced riders.

On-park facilities include:

  • Indoor pool with flumes and a lazy river (open late May to September)
  • Outdoor heated pool open during summer months
  • Adventure golf course
  • Live Lounge entertainment venue with nightly shows
  • Surf Bay Café serving fresh seafood and Cornish cream teas
  • Papa Johns, Cook’s Fish & Chips and Slim Chickens
  • FunWorks cashless amusement arcade
  • Beach Shack shop for buckets, spades and bodyboards

You’ll find accommoadation options for all budgets too. Saver caravans offer great value. Gold caravans in the Penhallow area now come with air conditioning – a genuine bonus on hot summer days. Fancy something different? Try the Geo Domes or Safari Tents for a glamping experience. For pure luxury, the Beach Houses feature private hot tubs with sea views.

There’s plenty to see and do close to the park with The Eden Project just 22 miles away. Newquay town centre sits just a 15-minute drive down the coast while Healey’s Cyder Farm offers tastings and tours nearby.
