Hall More Reviews

"We had such a lovely time at this cosy cottage. Its perfectly tucked away for peace and quiet but still close enough to enjoy local shops and cafes. The hot tub was a real treat and the underfloor heating kept everything super comfy. Rob, Sharon and Bonnie made us feel right at home. Cant wait to return for a longer stay!"
Sam - May 2025
"We loved the cosy cottage, especially the hot tub and log burner. The hosts were lovely and it was so peaceful. Cant wait to come back!"
Lucy - May 2025
"We had a fantastic stay! The house was really cosy and well kitted out, perfect for chilly December days. The bath was great and the shower was a lovely bonus. Even though its near a flight path, it didnt bother us at all - honestly, you barely notice. Ideal spot for dog owners, especially if fireworks scare them. Beautifully converted, really peaceful. Cheers!"
Emma - May 2025
"We had a wonderful stay! The place was spotless, comfy, well-equipped and the hot tub was a highlight."
Emma - May 2025
"Our Hall More review: We had such a lovely stay! The owners are genuinely warm and thoughtful, making everything feel so welcoming. The cottage itself is adorable, with that charming half-timbered look and the shower was surprisingly powerful-perfect after a long walk. Speaking of walks, the fields around are perfect for exploring and its a quick trip to Thaxted with its beautiful timbered houses and windmill. The parking right next to the cottage was a real bonus too. Spotlessly clean, well heated and super cosy overall."
Oliver - May 2025
"We really enjoyed our stay at Goddard Mead! The cottage had everything we needed and the walks right outside were perfect. The owners are genuinely lovely and the warm welcome made us feel right at home."
Emma - May 2025
"Rob and Sharon really put a lot of effort into transforming this old building with care and theyre genuinely lovely hosts-plus Bonnies a sweetheart! The place has a cosy, welcoming vibe, perfect for relaxing. Its situated in a lovely bit of Essex, so wed definitely recommend exploring Thaxted and the nearby villages; theres so much history and charming architecture to enjoy. We felt right at home and will be coming back for sure!"
Jessie - May 2025
"We had such a lovely stay in this good place! The location is really peaceful and private, perfect for relaxing. The owners were super friendly and helpful whenever we needed anything, but it still felt tucked away from everything. The hot tub was a real highlight after a long cycle day! One thing to note, the cottage is right under Stansteds flight path, so theres quite a bit of noise from the planes. It didnt bother us too much after a while, but its worth mentioning if you're sensitive to sound. Overall, wed definitely come back!"
Alex Turner - May 2025
"We had a wonderful stay! The place was so peaceful, perfect for relaxing and dog-friendly too."

"Really loved the tranquil vibe here and the Jacuzzi was fantastic too!"

"The cottage was stunning, honestly! The location couldnt be more peaceful, surrounded by such beautiful farml and. We loved seeing the horses and the owners were super friendly, making sure we had everything we needed. Perfect spot for a calm, relaxing getaway. Would definitely recommend it to anyone after a quiet break."
Emma - May 2025
"The cottage was really charming and perfect for a peaceful escape. The hot tub was a lovely bonus! Just be prepared for some night-time planes from Stanstead nearby."
Emma - May 2025
"We loved this little cottage! Perfectly tucked away but still near everything we needed. The hot tub was a real highlight and the underfloor heating in the bathroom made it extra comfy. Rob, Sharon and Bonnie were lovely hosts. Cant wait to visit again soon!"
Oliver - May 2025
"The cottage was really lovely, especially with the hot tub and log burner. Hosts were friendly, very peaceful setting. Wed love to come back soon!"
Lucy - May 2025
"We stayed in a really cosy house that was super well equipped, which made everything so easy. It was lovely and warm, perfect for a rainy December day. The bath was fantastic and the shower was nice and spacious. Being on a flight path didnt bother us at all-dont worry! Its great if youve got dogs that hate fireworks, as its tucked away in the middle of nowhere. Thanks so much!"
Emma - May 2025
"We had such a great weekend here, it really ticked all the boxes for us. The garden was perfect for the dogs and they had a blast with the underfloor heating-Luna even wagged her tail so much she strained it! Honestly, everyone was happy, pups included. Were already planning to return soon. Cant recommend it enough!"
James - May 2025
"We really enjoyed our stay at Goddard Mead! The cottage had everything we needed and was super cosy. Loved the doorstep walks and the owners made us feel so welcome. Definitely recommend it!"
Sarah - May 2025
"We stayed at Goddard's Mead recently and were really impressed. Rob and Sharon clearly put a lot of effort into converting this historic building with care and their warm welcome made us feel right at home, along with Bonnies friendly nature. The location is perfect for exploring Essexs charming villages like Thaxted, full of interesting history and lovely sights. Its a peaceful spot, ideal for relaxing and soaking up the local atmosphere. Highly recomended!"
Emma - May 2025
"We had such a lovely stay in this peaceful spot, tucked away in a really private bit of the countryside. The owners were super friendly and always ready to help if we needed anything, but they kept a respectful distance which we appreciated. The hot tub was a real treat after long cycling days! One thing to note, the cottage is just under Stansteds flight path, so there's quite a bit of aircraft noise. It didnt bother us much once we got used to it, but it might be a problem if you're sensitive to noise. All in all, a great place to relax!"
Raj - May 2025
"We had an amazing time at this cosy cottage tucked away on a working farm, yet it feels so private. The owners, Robert and Sharon, couldn't be nicer-they really make you feel at home. The place is super spacious, with a well-equipped kitchen and comfy bed that we didnt want to leave. The gardens perfect for dogs, totally secluded and furnished nicely. Plenty of lovely walks nearby and Thaxteds eateries like The Star and The Maypole are worth checking out. Wed definitely recommend it!"
James - May 2025
"We had a cracking weekend here, really enjoyed ourselves. Definitely planning to visit again soon!"

Attractions Near Hall More

Here are some of the activities and experiences you can enjoy on your visit to Hall More. If you discover a worthy inclusion to this list on your hot tub break, please let us know and we'll add it so that other visitors can enjoy it too.
Lakeland Wildlife Oasis - LA6 1JH
about 0 Miles
Located in the Milnthorpe area of Cumbria we love this local attraction.  With an eclectic mix of fascinating wildlife and hands on displays this centre is educational as well as fun.  You can wander around at leisure admiring the exhibits which range from chameleons to computers. Some of the most threatened species are kept at the park as part if international breeding programmes.  Check out their website for the latest opening times and admission costs which are great value for money.  There are discounts for pre-booked parties of 12 or more.
Happy Mount Park - LA4 5AQ
about 8 Miles
Happy Mount Park has attractions for the whole family including several play areas, a miniature railway, crazy golf, putting green and trampolines, there is also a paddling pool where the little ones can splash around in the summer and a café where the adults can relax with a drink. During the summer months and especially during school holidays live music can often be enjoyed.
South Lakes Safari Zoo - LA12 0LU
about 16 Miles

This is an amazing Cumbria attraction well known locally as well as nationally for how close you can get to the animals.  Described as the most interactive animal park in Europe it's well worth a visit if you are staying in the area.  Open from April to end October some of the highlights are the tigers, penguins, bears, hippos and rhinos.  At 2pm during certain seasons it's feeding time so don't forget to plan your day around this so you can watch the animals enjoying their feed.  Look out for seasonal events such as Halloween Zoo Boo (free entry for kids in fancy dress) and The Magic of Christmas.

Rydal Mount & Gardens - LA22 9LU
about 19 Miles
Rydal Mount & Gardens are wonderfully situated between Lake Windermere and Rydal Water offering breathtaking scenery. The home of William Wordsworth from 1813 - 1850 the grand home is now lived in by the poets descendents but parts of the house and grounds are open to the public. Why not take a guided tour and see the rooms where many of the famous poems were written. The gardens are beautiful at all times of the year but in the summer offer a spectacular display of colour. There is also a gallery and a tearoom. Discounts are available for group bookings.
Bowland Wild Boar Park - PR3 2QT
about 21 Miles
Head for the Bowland Wild Boar park and we don't think you will be disappointed.  A popular attraction in Preston there is so much to do for the whole family.  From picnics, walks and wildlife to experiencing feeding the animals you are sure to have a memorable day out.  Also popular is the kids tractor play area.  For rest and relaxation the cafe is ideal serving hot drinks and snacks with a lovely view over the pond and wildlife feeding station.  The Forest of Bowland has been declared an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
Ullswater Steamers - CA11 0US
about 25 Miles
This is an award winning Lake District attraction and they have been operating cruisers on Lake Ullswater for over 150 years.  There is no better way to explore the lakes than on water and you could even combine a cruise with a spectacular walk.  For great days out in this region then this attraction is highly recommended and will appeal to couples as well as families.  Corporate groups are also well catered for.
Lake District Wildlife Park - CA12 4RD
about 38 Miles
We love this day out in Cumbria where you're encouraged to "take a fresh look".  Some of the amazing animals you will get to see include the only Canadian Lynx in the UK and you will have the opportunity to help their Lynx Conservation Project.  The Asian Fishing Cat is also well worth a look - these cats are known for diving under the water and catching fish!  Other activities include fantastic flying displays and play areas for the little ones...
