Woodside Coastal Retreat Reviews

"A fabulous stay in peaceful surroundings, good views and great accommodation."
Verified Guest - Apr 2025
"As mentioned, lodge was a little tired, but hasn't stopped us rebooking as the overall holiday was fantastic and the site was clean, well kept, location perfect and the woodland walk and beach an added bonus."
Rachel - Apr 2025
"Very lovely cozy lodge with fab hot tub. We enjoyed walks to the sea in close distance. It was smaller than the previous premiere lodge we stayed in but we woukd defo return!"
Imogen - Apr 2025
"The most beautiful setting you could wish forstunning views over the Solent, direct access to the beach, and an incredible hot tub that made for a truly memorable stay. However, the lodge itself is in need of some serious TLC. The radiators were rusty, the sofas stained, and the dining chairs had no paddingjust covers to make them look uniform. On arrival, we found dust and hair everywhere. Thankfully, we brought our own hoover, which we emptied three times just on the first day. It was clear that furniture hadnt been moved to clean underneath or around it.The inventory also needs a refreshthere were only five sets of cutlery for six guests. It's clear youre paying for the view here, but with a bit more attention to detail and a thorough deep clean, the lodge could be perfect. Also, a heads-up for those arriving with two cars: visitor parking is extremely limited. If none are available, youll have to use the other sites car park. For us, with two special needs children, this made access to and from the lodge quite challenging and reception were not very willing to help.On the plus side the gentleman doing the hot tub maintenance was fantastic going above and beyond cleaning our decking daily."
Verified Guest - Apr 2025
"Our Woodside Coastal Retreat review: We had a rickety dining chair which was reported to reception. This did not affect us directly as there were only two of us. More attention to the cleaning regime required and a lick of paint would not go amiss."
Caroline - Apr 2025
"Lodge seemed a little tired. Only half of the hot tub worked (two opposite corners) so couldn't really enjoy as a family, staff failed to repair it despite admitting it was faulty and no communication without having to chase for update. One bedroom dirty with empty bottles and most of pack of peanut M&Ms all left scattered under a bed. Location in woodlands still makes for lovely location and good views."
Steve W - Apr 2025
"The place was clean and comfy with everything we needed. You had a lovely short walk to the facilities of the cafe and gym. The staff were very helpful and lovely. The place was dog friendly which made it very nice for all of us."
Darren - Apr 2025
"We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Woodside Coastal Retreat and plan to return. The lodge was lovey and spacious. The beds were very comfortable. There is only 1 parking space per lodge, which wasnt ideal with us travelling with grandparents and 2 cars. However we were lucky to alway manage to get a visitors space. My only real complaint was that the lodge had a bad smell on arrival (which with a days airing and some airfreshers it went), and it was grubby, I gave it a good clean and wipe down on arrival. I don't feel it has had a good deep clean for a while, we found empty vapes, confetti and make up containers under beds, grape stalks in the living room light shade, a decent layer of dust on fire and tv and food splatters on the walls and surfaces. Once we had cleaned this all down we were happy with the accomodation. The furniture was well used, and could do with another kick of paint."
Carley - Apr 2025
"As said, needs updating. The coverings were coming away from the cupboard doors, lots of cobwebs, bed frame thick with dust and bathroom floor not clean."
Sally - Apr 2025
"Do not stay in lodge 28c. It is in very poor condition. There is a big tree right next to the decking and hot tub, which means you have to tread in bird poo to get in and out of the hot tub. The radiators are rusty. There is grease running down the side of the extractor hood. Dog hairs are well trodden in the carpet, and the cleaners hoover doesnt even scratch the surface. Hairs found on the beds and pillows and all around the shower and bath. We reluctantly stayed there 1 night out of 4. Location and views are great. Its such a shame that the lodges are so knackered."
Verified Guest - Apr 2025
"Good sized lodge. Showing wear & tear a little but nothing to complain about"
Maria - Apr 2025
"We had a lovely stay, with breathtaking views and a super relaxing hot tub. The lodge was spacious, well-equipped and perfect for chilling out. A few things could be improved - the kettle was pretty scaley and the toilet roll holders felt a bit loose. Also, the beds end posts were missing their tops, which was a bit odd. Still, overall, a nice place to unwind!"
Emma - Mar 2025
"We had a pretty decent time at The Lodge, though a few things could be better. The seating is a bit limited-just two settees for four bedrooms-so dont expect comfy spots for everyone if you're a bigger group. The kettle could do with a descale, but the beds were super comfy, even if one squeaked a bit when you moved. Overall, a good stay!"
Oliver - Mar 2025
"We loved staying here! The lodge was airy and had stunning views, plus that hot tub was just perfect. Beds were comfy and the kids adored their rooms."
Emma - Mar 2025
"The Lodge is good for a holiday stay, but the seating is limited with only two settees for four bedrooms, so beware of thinking there's comfortable seats for everyone if over four people. The kettle needs descaling. But other than those items we had a good stay. The Beds are very comfortable but one double bed squeaks when movement occurs such as getting in and out of it."
Derek - Mar 2025
"We loved the place! The lodge was super comfy and well kitted out, though a manual for the microwave wouldve been handy. The hot tub was a real treat after a busy day exploring. Views across the Solent were just what wed hoped for. Definitely recommend!"
Sarah - Mar 2025
"Great location for exploring rest of the Isle of Wight Lodge comfortable well equipped maybe a manual on how to use combination microwave would have been helpful ?Hot tub was nice after a day of sightseeingViews everything hoped for over the solent"
Wendy - Mar 2025
"We had such a lovely stay at Woodside Bay! The lodge was spotlessly clean and super cosy when we arrived, which was great. The hot tub was just perfect after a day out and the view of the sea is honestly breathtaking. Its our second visit and it didnt disappoint. Well definitely be coming back again soon!"
Emma - Mar 2025
"We loved the stunning scenery and the peaceful vibe of the place. The Osbourne cabin was really roomy and we spent plenty of time relaxing on the decking in the sunshine. Only small gripe was the kitchen tools - could do with an update and a veggie knife wouldve been handy. Overall, a fantastic spot well definitely suggest to friends!"
Emma - Mar 2025
"Lovely location with fabulous views. Our cabin, the Osbourne, was spacious with ample decking to sit on when the sun came out.Only issues were the cooking utensils could do with an overhaul & a vegatable knife added but overall a great place to stay & I'll be recommending it to anyone wanting a holiday on the Island."
Paula - Mar 2025
"We stayed at the lodge recently and honestly, it was pretty good overall. The place was spotless and super cosy, with everything we needed. The beds were really comfy and the hot tub was a highlight - such a treat after a long day. The washing machine was a bit noisy, probably worn bearings or something, but it didnt ruin our stay. The only real annoyance was the neighbours. Every time we went out or came back, theyd all stare at us like meerkats but wouldnt say a word - kinda strange. The first night, they threw quite a party on the decking, music blasting and singing along loudly, which made it impossible to hear the TV. We phoned reception and they sorted it out quickly, so we could finally get some sleep. Honestly, if we could avoid noisy neighbours, wed be back in a heartbeat. Great place, just hope next time its a bit quieter around us!"
Emily - Mar 2025
"While the place isn't exactly 'luxury', we found it quite cosy, though it did need a proper clean and looked a bit worn out. The hot tub was definitely a highlight and the location right on the beach was perfect for relaxing. We got a last-minute deal, so it wasnt too bad overall. Wouldnt pay full price, though!"
Alex - Feb 2025
"Really enjoyed our stay, the lodge was comfy, warm and very clean overall."
Emma Carter - Feb 2025
