How far should you go for lodges with hot tubs near Manchester?

For a two-night hot tub break, keep it under an hour. Leave the city at half five on a Friday and the M60 and M56 can easily add 20 minutes, so Cheshire is the safe bet when you only have Friday night and Saturday.

Got three nights, or a Friday off? Then the Peak District comes into play. Longnor and Ashbourne take a little over an hour on a clear road, and the hills on the doorstep are worth the extra miles.

One rule we’d stick to: if it’s more than 90 minutes, it’s a holiday, not a quick getaway.

Delamere Forest Lodges, Cheshire

This is the closest luxury hot tub accommodation to Manchester that we list. The cabins sit inside Delamere, an ancient royal hunting ground covering 2,400 acres of the Cheshire Plain, so you step off your decking onto paths, cycle routes and riding trails. Look out for the old meres and mosses as you explore.

A handful are set up for guests with partial disabilities, with a wet room and an outdoor hot tub with a hoist. That’s rare, and well worth knowing about.

Delamere Lake Holiday Park, Cheshire

About 45 minutes’ drive from Manchester – sleeps up to 10 – pet friendly – by the water – rated 4.6

Just down the road, these luxury lodges with private parking sit around 120 acres of water, with floor-to-ceiling glass facing it. The Country Lodge Six VIP Platinum has one double and two twin rooms, which makes it an easy pick for a family of six or two couples sharing. Then it’s out onto the decking and into the bubbles!

Kipling Lodge, Rudyard

About 56 minutes’ drive from Manchester – sleeps up to 6 – pet friendly – waterside – pub nearby – rated 4.7

An all-timber log cabin on the western edge of the Peak District, with its own way down to Rudyard Lake. The six-person hot tub is sheltered, so a drizzly evening doesn’t spoil anything, and there’s underfloor heating and big French windows onto an enclosed garden for the dog. You’ll find a pub about three minutes away on foot and an EV charging point on the drive.

Ribblesdale Lodges, Gisburn

Longnor Wood Holiday Park, near Buxton

No children, no noise. Longnor Wood is adults only, the grounds hold the David Bellamy Gold Award for Conservation and each one-bedroom lodge has a king-size bed, an en suite shower and a covered outdoor hot tub. Longnor village, a short way off, has several pubs and restaurants.

It’s a cosy base for the upper Dove and Manifold valleys.

Rivendale Lodge Retreat, Ashbourne

About 76 minutes’ drive from Manchester – sleeps up to 8 – pet friendly – treehouses – rated 4.8

Lodges and treehouses inside the Peak District National Park, with a shop, restaurant and bar on site and a dog wash for muddy paws. You can cycle straight from your door, the Tissington Trail is close by and the popular stepping stones at Dovedale make a lovely morning out. Fancy a view? Staying this close, you can mix fresh air with a trip back into Manchester if the weather turns.

Delamere trails and Go Ape

Start from the Linmere visitor centre, next to Delamere station on the B5152, where you’ll find parking, toilets, a café and bike hire. The paths are mostly level and well surfaced, and the longer loop past Blakemere Moss (a flooded Ice Age wetland) runs to about six miles. Rudyard and its little steam railway

The full circuit of the water is about five miles. The eastern side follows the old railway line and is flat, while the western side climbs a little and joins the Staffordshire Way. A miniature steam railway runs along the east bank at weekends and on bank holidays from spring into autumn, with extra days in the school holidays, so check the Rudyard Lake Steam Railway’s own timetable before you go. There’s a car park by the station.

Longnor and the Manifold Valley

Head out of Longnor across the River Dove and you can climb High Wheeldon for wide views over the limestone hills, or follow the signed Manifold Trail for a gentler stroll. Ribble Valley and Gisburn

Dovestone Reservoir and Saddleworth

Closer still, the loop around Dovestone Reservoir near Greenfield is about two and a half miles and makes a good leg-stretch on the drive home. Wildfires hit the moors above it in July 2026 and some Saddleworth footpaths closed afterwards, so check with the RSPB, who look after the Dove Stone reserve, before you set off.

Back into the city: Old Trafford and the Etihad

Staying in Cheshire puts you well under an hour from both of Manchester’s big football grounds. The Manchester United Museum and Stadium Tour takes you into the home dressing room and out through the players’ tunnel, and Manchester City runs its own popular tours at the Etihad.
