South Lakeland Leisure Village Reviews

"Really enjoyed our stay, comfy lodge and everything we needed, cheers!"
Emma - Feb 2025
"We had a really great stay at this place! Its super close to the bars, restaurants and all the leisure stuff, which was perfect for us. The lodge is tucked away behind a secure barrier, so you feel pretty safe. The place itself was spotless and very well looked after. The beds were incredibly comfy, making it easy to settle in after busy days. The space was just right for our group of 4 adults, a kid and our two dogs. The hot tubs in the balcony and shuts at 10am, which some might find a bit odd, especially since it faces out onto the site, but honestly, it didnt bother us at all - we just popped in and out! The little touches like prosecco, orange juice, chocolates and ice cubes upon arrival made it feel special. Wed definitely come back if we could!"
Emma - Oct 2024
"We had a great weekend at the lodge! The place was super cosy once the heating was on and the hot tub was definitely the highlight. The kitchen had everything we needed and towels were provided. If I had to suggest one thing, a few air fresheners around might make it even better when you walk in. Still, lovely stay!"
Emma Clarke - Oct 2024
"Really enjoyed our stay, the lodge was spotless and super cosy. Only thing missing was a teapot, sadly!"
Emma - Sep 2024
"Our South Lakeland Leisure Village review: Great stay, really enjoyed the peaceful surroundings and comfy lodge."
Emma - Aug 2024
"We stayed at this lodge recently and honestly, it was lovely! The living area and kitchen were perfect for relaxing and the kitchen had everything we needed. The bedrooms were a great size too. Definitely impressed with how nice it was!"
Emily Carter - Aug 2024
"Great family getaway, lovely lodge, would definitely suggest it to friends."
Emma - Jul 2024
"Great family spot, really well looked after and the leisure pool is lovely!"
Emma Carter - Jul 2024
"The place was pretty nice overall, really clean when we arrived and the kitchen was well-stocked with good equipment. Only downside was the mattresses which were quite worn out and not very comfy, plus the pillows were pretty thin. Also, it would've been handy to have a coat or shoe rack, but otherwise, a decent stay!"
Mark - Jul 2024
"Very comfortable stay, felt like being at home, loved it!"
Emma Roberts - May 2024
"Beautiful, comfy stay"
Emma Roberts - Mar 2024
"We had a great weekend here! The place was lovely and spotless, really warm and comfy. The furniture seemed fairly new, which was a nice touch, though the bathroom looked a bit outdated. The hallway doors could do with a spruce up. Kitchen had everything we needed, so overall, we enjoyed our stay and loved the view of the grassed area. Great value!"
Emma - Mar 2024
"We stayed at this lodge recently and really enjoyed it. The books and games were a lovely bonus, perfect for relaxing evenings. The outdoor decking with furniture looked great, though its a shame the weather wasnt better in Feb. Maybe a bigger sofa for six would have been more comfy, but overall, very nice!"
Emma - Feb 2024
"The lodge was stunning, really loved the cosy vibe. When we arrived, the only thing was the windows needed a quick wipe - understandable with all the wildlife around. Didnt mind at all!"
Oliver - Aug 2020
"The Gold 2 room was really nice, we enjoyed it a lot!"
James - Nov 2019
"Great stay, would definitely come again!"
Emma Clarke - Nov 2019
"We had a lovely long weekend with the family. Wouldve appreciated an on-site shop, towels included and clearer signage with better lighting, but overall, it was fantastic!"
James - Sep 2019
"We had a lovely stay at the park. Everything was spotlessly maintained and the food in the restaurant was really good. Honestly, we couldn't find a single fault. Definitely deserves its five-star rating!"
Emma Clarke - Aug 2019
"Really enjoyed our trip to South Lakel and! The scenery was stunning and theres loads to keep busy with."
Emma - Apr 2019
"Honestly, this lodge was one of the nicest we've stayed in. The place was spotless and the beds were super comfy with crisp, white bedding. Would definitely return!"

Emma - Jul 2016
"We had a lovely stay at the country home! The place was really charming and our daughter absolutely loved it. The kitchen had everything we needed, making self-catering super easy. The beds were comfy and the decor was nice enough - nothing too fancy, but cosy. The only thing was the stairs-they were a bit rickety, which made us a bit nervous, especially since I was heavily pregnant. Still, it didnt spoil our holiday at all. Overall, wed definitely recommend it for a relaxing getaway!"
Emma - Jun 2016
"Very quiet peaceful site, unfortunately the restaurant cannot run at capacity due to staffing shortages, so limited menu. Very relaxing and a good base for the lakes etc."
Sara - Aug 2022
"We were very impressed with the facilities at South Lake Land leisure Village and will be returning"
Victoria - Jul 2022
"Nice lodges with ple ty of outdoor space, onsite restaurant was nice and reasonably priced, no onsite shop but 5min drive away from local centre with shops, pubs and restaurants, lovely pool although shallow."
Bethany - Jul 2022
"Lovely setting on the edge of the Lake District and Yorkshire dales. From our lodge we did have a view of the lake and was in a quiet setting. On some parts of the site, there was traffic noise. Swimming pool, gym and restaurant onsite as well."
Robert - Jun 2022
"Visited here for years and keep returning. Love it and always return. Setting and facilities fantastic"
Claire - Jun 2022

Some of the most threatened species are kept at the park as part if international breeding programmes.  Check out their website for the latest opening times and admission costs which are great value for money.  There are discounts for pre-booked parties of 12 or more.
Happy Mount Park - LA4 5AQ

Happy Mount Park has attractions for the whole family including several play areas, a miniature railway, crazy golf, putting green and trampolines, there is also a paddling pool where the little ones can splash around in the summer and a café where the adults can relax with a drink. During the summer months and especially during school holidays live music can often be enjoyed.
Bowland Wild Boar Park - PR3 2QT

Head for the Bowland Wild Boar park and we don't think you will be disappointed.  A popular attraction in Preston there is so much to do for the whole family.  From picnics, walks and wildlife to experiencing feeding the animals you are sure to have a memorable day out.  Also popular is the kids tractor play area.  For rest and relaxation the cafe is ideal serving hot drinks and snacks with a lovely view over the pond and wildlife feeding station.  The Forest of Bowland has been declared an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
South Lakes Safari Zoo - LA12 0LU

This is an amazing Cumbria attraction well known locally as well as nationally for how close you can get to the animals.  Described as the most interactive animal park in Europe it's well worth a visit if you are staying in the area.  Open from April to end October some of the highlights are the tigers, penguins, bears, hippos and rhinos.  At 2pm during certain seasons it's feeding time so don't forget to plan your day around this so you can watch the animals enjoying their feed.  Look out for seasonal events such as Halloween Zoo Boo (free entry for kids in fancy dress) and The Magic of Christmas.

The home of William Wordsworth from 1813 - 1850 the grand home is now lived in by the poets descendents but parts of the house and grounds are open to the public. Why not take a guided tour and see the rooms where many of the famous poems were written. The gardens are beautiful at all times of the year but in the summer offer a spectacular display of colour. There is also a gallery and a tearoom. Discounts are available for group bookings.
Ullswater Steamers - CA11 0US

This is an award winning Lake District attraction and they have been operating cruisers on Lake Ullswater for over 150 years.  There is no better way to explore the lakes than on water and you could even combine a cruise with a spectacular walk.  For great days out in this region then this attraction is highly recommended and will appeal to couples as well as families.  Corporate groups are also well catered for.
