You can play nine holes of golf at Craigieknowes, and Laggan Outdoor, just a short distance away, has zip wires, archery, grass sledging, Segway, mountain boarding and clay pigeon shooting.

Galloway Cottages has a stunning choice of accommodation, with cottages that have up to five bedrooms. For a large family party, the Farmhouse sleeps up to ten people - it's spacious, beautifully designed and set over two storeys with an enclosed garden and outdoor hot tub as well as an open plan living area with wood burner.

There are plenty of places to eat and drink - The Masonic Arms in Gatehouse of Fleet is only a few miles away and you can enjoy good food and real ale in this cosy beamed bar.

Great cottage, great location, loads to do. Very well maintained and clean and lots of dog friendly days out in the vicinity.

Date of stay: 1st June 2018
Unfortunately we compared Cottage 3 with Cottage 2 which you walk straight out to the outdoor area/hot-tub, but still a lovely cottage and very spacious.

Place is spotless- my only concern is nowhere to put rubbish so it is stored in the cottage. Lovely place to relax.

Date of stay: 6th October 2017
Pretty much perfect - see you again soon :)
Date of stay: 18th September 2017
Cottage was lovely and clean our only criticism would be that downstairs we had 2 bed rooms with en-suites and also a big shower room where as up the stairs there were 2 bedrooms with no toilet facilities. The en-suite toilets would have been more useful up the stairs.
Jennifer, Castle Douglas
Date of stay: 1st September 2017
Brilliant time had by everyone (including the dog!)
Colin, Rutherglen
Date of stay: 30th June 2017
Cottage was beautiful very spacious large garden hobtub very very clean close to caravan park and beach had a lovely time here x
Catherine, Grangemouth
Date of stay: 19th June 2017
Great weekend. The beautiful weather was an added bonus. Only thing disappointing was the Big Night In Box turned out to be a £10 voucher to spend in the site shop, could have got more for my £10 in my local ASDA stores.
Elizabeth, Blantyre
Date of stay: 16th June 2017
Would recommend to anyone with a family and pets. The hot tub was a welcome resting place for my weary bones lol, the views were amazing, would have liked a proper barbecue although the one use ones were adequate. If your looking for a relaxing family time away give it a go, maybe not great for night life but if you can make your own fun it's ideal!
Karen, Newcastle
Date of stay: 12th June 2017
Had stayed here last year and was cleaner than this year. Lovely comfortable cottage in peaceful location. Hot tub very well maintained

Very Spacious. bedrooms sleeping 7. Large bedrooms modern and fresh.

Date of stay: 25th July 2016
The Cottage was comfortable and quiet. The Hot Tub was excellent but the shower drains within the Cottage were choked causing the shower recess to fill with water when used.

As a guest, you don't expect to unclog the drains but I had no choice due to a nagging wife..
Fiona, Lanarkshire
Date of stay: 18th July 2016
Cottage was lovely and hot tub was great , also hospitality tray and toiletries were really thoughtful.
Petros, Swindon
Date of stay: 1st July 2016
A fantastic holiday resort. Cottages are clean and equipped with modern equipment. The 'Hot Tub', oh fantastic! Going back in November for another break.
Date of stay: 20th June 2016
Farmhouse was lovely but maybe do with a good dust/spring clean. Beds, linen and towels all clean. Hot tub was immaculate.
Carol, Glasgow
Date of stay: 13th June 2016
Lovely setting and hot tub great! Spent 3nights with family, including 2 grandchildren aged 4yrs and 2yrs. Children had a ball- play park in garden, loved the beach and facilities on caravan site. My only concern was, there was a glass coffee table and dining table which I felt was very dangerous when children were running around.
Ann-marie, Glasgow
Date of stay: 3rd June 2016
The cottage was top class and I was very impressed with everything. The cleanliness was outstanding and so impressed with the 3 times per day cleaning of the hot tub, crystal clear water. Young child of 4 was very happy in this cottage and plenty of space for us all for the week. Pictures are nice online however in real life its even more impressive. Would love to go back and would stay in this cottage again. Thanks for a brilliant holiday.
Grahame, Bathgate
Date of stay: 14th March 2016
lovely property nice and secluded from the rest of the park. Hot tub to die for, pity the little bbq seems to have gone walk about.

Walls will be needing a paint soon in the living room - please dont leave it till it looks tatty.
Tanya, Co Durham
Date of stay: 14th March 2016
Spotless and fully equipped with every thing you require
Linda, Airdrie
Date of stay: 11th March 2016
This was our first time here , thoroughly enjoyed our time , staff , location , stunning cottages , couldnt fault anything , even weather was good , weve booked again for next year , a very big thank you to you all , till next time thanks again
Date of stay: 7th March 2016
Lovely modern accommodation with plenty space. Nice, private garden with hot tub and country views.
Date of stay: 7th March 2016
Fantastic few days at courtyard 5 only a couple of things I think can be improved. Plastic tumblers for using at the hot tub would be great. Also an upgrade in mattresses they were very thin and and not very comfortable. The fridge was a bit small other than that we had a great time staff were very friendly and helpful.
Marie, Carluke
Date of stay: 29th February 2016
Again the house could be doing with a decent spring clean
Fiona, Edinburgh
Date of stay: 26th February 2016
We stayed in Courtyard 5 from Monday to Friday in February and had a lovely time. The cottage was lovely and the hot tub was amazing. The cottage was very comfortable and modern and was well equipped. It had 2 showers which was useful for using before going in the hot tub. There was a large decking area outside which would have been lovely in the summer. I wasn't able to get a signal on my mobile phone while I was there and the wi-fi was pretty sporadic. Overall a great stay and highly recommended.
Karen, Airdrie
Date of stay: 22nd February 2016
The cottage was lovely, very well presented and clean. The only downside was that the hot tub was a short distance from the cottage and uncovered. I would score the cottage 10 out of 10 if this wasn't the case.
Pauline, Cumbria
Date of stay: 15th February 2016
A great little place to stay for visiting the chocolate factory, etc. The cottage was lovely and clean but configuration a little odd - the ensuite was adjoined to the single bedroom and you had to trail through the lounge wet after being in the hot tub - the hot tub was fantastic. The road - A75 - was quite dangerous to cross to get over to the holiday park as traffic was very fast - think a bridge would be a good idea. Had use of the swimming pool at the holiday park which was free. Entertainment passes had to be purchased.
Robina, Bathgate
Date of stay: 15th February 2016
Great time had by all. 2 families joined together in 2 cottages for a special birthday and we all got on great. Accommodation was spacious, facilities perfect.
Sarah, Menstrie

Date of stay: 30th December 2015
Accommodation just right for our family party. Maybe just a little spruce up here and there would make it perfect.
Date of stay: 14th December 2015
It was a home from home, with the added benefit of the fabulous hot tub.

Highly recommended!!!!

Date of stay: 9th October 2015
We had a lovely break in Cottage 5.
Only 2 of us so 2 bed cottage was ideal for us. Likes having the 2 shower rooms.
Kitchen had all the essentials, but fridge/freezer was a bit small and noisy.
Cottage was generally clean, but tv screen and windows had not had a clean for a while.
Huge decking area with garden furniture.
Loved the hot tub.
Date of stay: 11th September 2015
best and biggest Cottage we had, with three bathrooms, hot tub on a giant terrace, everything was perfect even the wheather
Michelle, Morpeth
Date of stay: 31st August 2015
Perfect. Love the hot tub and all mod cons. Comfy accommodation. Only down point is the fire alarm went off every time I made breakfast so all windows on doors open. Kitchen and living room together or its my bad cooking. I will be returning for another break.
Claire, Northumberland
Date of stay: 24th August 2015
I booked up for a long weekend during August, to be honest with the property allowing dogs in I wasn't expecting anything too good, but I was more than pleasantly surprised, the cottage was spotless and had everything we needed for a really enjoyable weekend, the holiday Park across the road has excellent facilities for children. My partner and I are hoping to book up for another break next year
Kristina, Tonbridge
Date of stay: 17th August 2015
A very spacious cottage, could just do with a bit more crockery! The hot tub was checked daily and we all loved it! Would love to visit again and would book the same cottage.

Cottage and hot tub perfect as is location.
Rachael, Aberdeen
Date of stay: 24th July 2015
Fantastic lodge with added advantage of the hot tub made the holiday so much more relaxing. One comment is that lodge four is very open could do with more fencing to seclude it from the swing park. Will defiantly return in the future.
Maureen, Coatbridge North Lanarkshire
Date of stay: 13th July 2015
As above however upstairs rooms were very warm

Beautiful cottage in a magnificent location, would book again, very clean and spacious, there were six of us all family and we had a lovely weekend the hot tub was excellent everything we needed was there even a hair-dryer, lovely little added extras like soap, shower gel &hand lotion which was really thoughtful, overall we all had a lovely weekend. The caravan park nearby was also lovely and staff very friendly, would definitely book again, thank you GB Greenock

We had a wonderful time staying in the Galloway Cottages (No.5) The cottage upon arrival was clean & fresh & well appointed.
The hot tub was a great addition & well used by us all.

Galloway Cottages & the surrounding area is a place of relaxation, peace & quiet.
If you are planning a holiday or short break with this in mind you will have a wonderful time, don't expect your phone to work & the WiFi as the signal is quite low, this did not hinder our stay whatsoever as we loved the feeling of turning off!
We took a little trip into Castle Douglas & into Dumfries which were both lovely!
On the Saturday we spent the morning up at Laggan Outdoor, ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC! We did the Zip Wire, highly recommended, the staff here are fab, filling you with confidence & making sure you have a fun filled time! After our thrilling zip wire we headed into Gatehouse of Fleet for Sunday Lunch in the Masonic Arms where we had a hearty Scottish Sunday lunch!
Overall we highly recommend this lovely part of Scotland & would definitely revisit!

we thought the cottage for the time of year was very good value for money the cottage was clean and very cosy we love going to Scotland for our holidays we will be back.
Date of stay: 10th April 2015
Only minor issue was lack of outside private space. Did not matter too much in April but maybe for a summer break may miss not having somewhere to sit outside.
Richard, Glasgow
Date of stay: 30th March 2015
Couldn't have expected more with the facilities and house. Would definitely go back soon!

Date of stay: 27th March 2015
I recently spent my week off in Courtyard 1 Galloway cottage with partner & his family. The cottage was spotless when we we arrived and would could not be happier with the condition of this beautiful modern cottage. We were lucky enough to get get 4 beautiful days and spent the daytime for walks, visiting the Creamry and spending time in the garden. Night time was just as good with the sports bar only a short walk were there was entertained by Linsay with Bingo, quizes and karaoke. The rest of the night was spent in the amazing hot tub out on the patio drinking wine under the stars. The only thing I could say is the main road you have to cross to get to the caravan park made me a little nervous. I would recommend The Galloway Cottages to everyone and anyone.
Dale, Kirkcaldy
Date of stay: 13th March 2015
Upon arrival we were very pleased with the cottage , everything was clean apart from a dirty used hairy razor in the double en suite above the vanity mirror , but I put it down to the cleaner being small and unable to see above because everything else was clean, we went to the complex at site it was nice for kids to play at pool and soft play, however I couldn't enjoy a beer or two as I had to drive there and back because the A75 is far to dangerous to walk over with buggies and toddlers and they don't offer any lift back service , the cottage itself was good aver all although cy4 has zero privacy in garden/hot tub can't let kids play in garden without supervision as there is no gate and could reach the main A75 road in seconds , that said , to what I seen the rest are enclosed so wouldn't be a problem in others but cy4 definitely not for young kids .
Overall 9/10

Loved the cottage, very cosy, perfect for a family of 4. Hot tub was awesome.
Karen, Nottingham
Date of stay: 31st October 2014
Courtyard 4 was a beautiful comfortable cottage. It was nice and clean and warm. However the priority when we booked was for wifi as my children are both in their last year at secondary school so needed to do research for their homework. We arrived at 11pm Friday night. Unfortunately the wifi broke completely Tuesday morning and despite promises from the staff when we reported it (5 times in all) it never came back. As a result we had to leave the accommodation early. The staff mentioned that we could use the free wifi at the caravan park but my sons didn't want to take their books etc to a strange place. As there was no mobile signal either they were unable to use 3G to help them. This was the only downside as the accommodation and hot tub were wonderful. However as stated above, we wouldn't have considered booking the cottage if we had known that we'd have no wifi for half of the holiday. At premium prices for a week I would expect a reliable internet connection.
Lynne, Lanc
Date of stay: 26th September 2014
The cottage was absolutely beautiful. It was better than we expected for the money we paid. There was nothing more we could of asked for. Everything you could possibly need was provided. Would definately return in the future.
Lauren, Halifax
Date of stay: 5th September 2014
Amazing hot tub, lovely cottage. Lots of extras including, a hair-dryer, child gates, high chair etc. Fence in garden was great for our little one to play ball in the only thing I would change would be to make the fence higher as we could see our neighbours in their hot tub!
Scott, Carluke
Date of stay: 5th September 2014
Accommodation was lovely!

Date of stay: 22nd August 2014
LOVED the cottage! We didn't want to leave!
Rachel, Bebington, Wirral
Date of stay: 18th August 2014
We had an excellent time. My daughter loved using the swimming pool and we loved going onto the beach to go rock pooling. The views over the bay 1st thing in the morning were fantastic. Great to wake up, open the curtains and see Belted Galloway cows, sheep and horses rather than concrete blocks which we normally see. Nice and peaceful. Plenty to see and do in the local area from Ice Cream farms to rock pooling on local private beaches.

Our boiler tripped and we had no hot water one morning. The engineers were very quick at coming to sort it out so w had hot water for the rest of the week, Very efficient.
Jacqui, Rugby
Date of stay: 1st August 2014
We always take our dog on holiday and so usually have substandard "bronze" caravans. What a surprise then when we saw our cottage. It far exceeded our expectations. Clean, comfortable, spacious and well equipped.

Next to a very busy main road with a lot of traffic noise. Courtyard 3 has no enclosed garden and garden cannot be accessed from inside property you have to exit building and walk round. Not great when you have young children.
Susan, Alloa
Date of stay: 30th June 2014
The cottage was beautiful and hD everything you need. Very clean and comfortable however we were unable to use the barbecue outside as it was not clean.
Tanya, Perth
Date of stay: 30th June 2014
Cottage was really comfy, plenty space and well equipped, although needed a few extras like bathroom hooks and shelf.
Date of stay: 23rd June 2014
The house was beautiful but quite expensive, it did however have adequate room for two families. The main road was noisy.
Andrew, Telford
Date of stay: 20th June 2014
the cottage and hot tub were really clean, home from home feel!

We couldn't fault the cottage!!It was fantastic! The beds were so comfy,we slept very well! The hot tub was marvellous too!!A bit cool the 1st night but that was explained but there in it was hot!!!We all had a lovely break & would highly recommend the cottages!!
Joanne, Livingston
Date of stay: 21st April 2014
Big house, loads of space. Beds very comfortable. Kitchen well equipped. Had to get the cleaners over to clean the kitchen worktops, dirty and sticky when we arrived which was disappointing. Kitchen floor and wall needed cleaned where something had obviously been spilt and not cleaned . Outside furniture was broken and dirty and the exterior of the house needed a bit of attention. Bins overflowing near the farmhouse and seagulls pecking at the rubbish leading to it being strewn about the place. Reported it to reception the day before we left. Nothing done about it. However it

Only downside was busy road and long walk to the main holiday park facilities which was difficult for an elderly member of our party. Other than that, the cottage was lovely - very comfortable and well equipped.

Date of stay: 7th March 2014
Lovely accommodation big bedrooms but may be a little cramped in the living room for 5. Brand new play equipment right next to the cottage was a bonus. Only thing it needs are a couple of lights at the parking area 5outside as it is very dark. Cottage 4 is the furthest away from the road and we certainly weren't bothered by it.
Valerie, Burntisland
Date of stay: 24th February 2014
Lovely clean well equipped 2 bed roomed cottage , would suit a couple or family plenty of room outside and in , the hot tub was clean and nice and private ,
Date of stay: 17th February 2014
One word WOW!
This was the second time we have been and will be back again.
Stayed before in cottage 3 but didnt like where the hot tub was, this time we stayed in cottage 4 which was a better lay out and had more lights inside which is much needed when cooking. Pluss we took our gazeebo and put it iver the tub and we were protected from the rain.
3rd time booking these lodges , amazing stay everytime would definitely reccomend
Absolutely spotless, great location and very friendly and helpful staff thanks
Fantastic cottage in a lovely part of the country. Very clean and the enclosed decking area was ideal for the dogs. Hot tub was a good addition too, great looking up at the stars at night! Highly recommended and look forward to returning.
Lovely bright clean cottage. Excellent staff, food in the Bistro was lovely and very reasonably priced. Having the hot tub was an excellent addition
Lovely cottages great break
The cottage was lovely, exactly as described the only reason I say 9/10 for location is the busy road so need to cross
Loved everything about the cottage. It was great to have the use of the facilities at the camp. All staff that we had contact with were very helpful.
Went for my mums 60th with the whole family and although there's not any big shops round about the cottages the caravan site has all u need and very reasonable price as well. Staff are very friendly and nothing is every too much hassle for them.

We also recommend a visit to Castle Douglas and the Treasure Hunt Treasure Trails. These treasure hunts are great fun for the whole family and are an entertaining way to explore a new town or village. Children will enjoy solving the clues whilst learning about the history of the area. The walking trail is suitable for wheelchair users and those with pushchairs so no one is left out of the fun.
