Fallbarrow Reviews

"Holiday was good"
Nicy - Feb 2024
"We enjoyed our stay in Ulverston caravan, but found the main bed too small. So would look at other accommodation next time with decent size bed"
Elzabeth - Nov 2023
"Nice caravan. Clean and comfortable. Staff very friendly and helpful, sorted one or two minor glitches immediately after I advised them after we had arrived. All done within an hour or so."
Richard - Nov 2023
"Lovely park, staff very friendly and helpful. Couple of minutes walk to town centre and waterfront. Beautiful location would highly recommend."
Eleanor - Nov 2023
"Great for dogs .Would visit the site again"
Paul - Nov 2023
"Fallbarrow holiday park is great place to take the family, with plenty to do for all the family and great restaurants just on the door step with ample entertainment and right on lake Windermere, with a little beach area to dip the toes. Great value for money. And very friendly, helpful staff."
Stephen - Nov 2023
"the caravan itself was lovely.only thing was someone had dug a sharp object into sofa seat and caused damage.also partition dividing loung and kitchen had a bit pulled off.otherwise everything else was fine.i dont know why people cant respect other peoples property and do damage.shower was brilliant very powerful."
Helen - Jul 2023
"Caravan fully equipped"

Linda - Jan 2020
"Caldwell was excellent, perfect for 2 adults."
Lesley - Jan 2020
"Dirty on arrival and old sofas in need of a change. Great layout and could have been a brilliant lodge but cleanliness was very disappointing. It was in need of a deep clean and hadnt been cleaned properly at all before our arrival, the rugs clearly hadnt been vacuumed with lots of dog hair on them and dust in all the corners / skirting boards and windows. Cob webs on every window too."
Elliott - Jan 2020
"Great few days away will definitely be back"
Mark - Jan 2020
"Lovely break we will be back"
Maria - Dec 2019
"Cons - poor to none WiFi signal
- hoping for a lake view.. But didn't matter because:

Pros - excellent location so close to the town and pubs, bar comparable with town prices, perfect clean Appleby lodge with all mod cons and garden furniture, peaceful and quiet a perfect winter getaway. All you need apart from a hairdryer.

I would say perfection if heating had been put on for arrival and I hadn't had to spend 20 minutes connecting the Freesat and soundbar.

With WiFi and perhaps a leisure room this place would be heaven!"
Beverley - Nov 2019
"Accommodation was lovely"
Rosemary - Nov 2019
"Lovely lodge, clean and well maintained"
Vincent - Nov 2019
"As previously said, lodge was one of the best we have had at Fallbarrow. Perhaps could have a few more glasses in the kitchen, but that is the only niggle. Lovely location on Beech Hill , even had a tiny view of the lake. The early morning walk down to the caf for my newspaper was stunning.
Will be back again next week and also next year."
Janet - Nov 2019
"The lodge was spotless and spacious with everything we needed. The grounds were beautiful"
Louise - Nov 2019
"Quite a few cobwebs in the accommodation.

Restaurant on the Saturday night was awful. Music far too loud, DJ incredibly annoying, nowhere quiet to eat. Regretted going there to eat. Had to get refund on dessert as poor quality"
Adam - Oct 2019
"Excellent stay, beautiful location! Caravan could do with a new mattress my only feedback"
Emma - Jul 2022
"We had a great holiday and would recommend the park to friends"
Marianne - Jul 2022
"Great location lovely staff seemed quiet but had a great time any way close to town centre 5 min walk 4 days not long enough wish I'd booked longer overall great place would recommend"
Deborah - Jul 2022
"Such a lovely park, good to be next to lake with its wonderful views. Couple of minutes walk and you are in Bowness. Staff very friendly and helpful. We have stayed there in the past and will hopefully get back again. Would definitely recommend."
Irene - Jun 2022
"Had a fantastic week in a caravan. Lovely site, very clean, well maintained. In walking distance to Bowness"
Elaine - Jun 2022
"Fantastic place for a nice relax no Internet in the caravan just at pub and cafe."
Martin - Jun 2022
"Lovely setting, easy walk in to the town and lake. Caravan was much better than expected."

Attractions Near Fallbarrow

Here are some of the activities and experiences you can enjoy on your visit to Fallbarrow. If you discover a worthy inclusion to this list on your hot tub break, please let us know and we'll add it so that other visitors can enjoy it too.
Rydal Mount & Gardens - LA22 9LU
about 6 Miles
Rydal Mount & Gardens are wonderfully situated between Lake Windermere and Rydal Water offering breathtaking scenery. The home of William Wordsworth from 1813 - 1850 the grand home is now lived in by the poets descendents but parts of the house and grounds are open to the public. Why not take a guided tour and see the rooms where many of the famous poems were written. The gardens are beautiful at all times of the year but in the summer offer a spectacular display of colour. There is also a gallery and a tearoom. Discounts are available for group bookings.
Ullswater Steamers - CA11 0US
about 12 Miles
This is an award winning Lake District attraction and they have been operating cruisers on Lake Ullswater for over 150 years.  There is no better way to explore the lakes than on water and you could even combine a cruise with a spectacular walk.  For great days out in this region then this attraction is highly recommended and will appeal to couples as well as families.  Corporate groups are also well catered for.
Lakeland Wildlife Oasis - LA6 1JH
about 13 Miles
Located in the Milnthorpe area of Cumbria we love this local attraction.  With an eclectic mix of fascinating wildlife and hands on displays this centre is educational as well as fun.  You can wander around at leisure admiring the exhibits which range from chameleons to computers. Some of the most threatened species are kept at the park as part if international breeding programmes.  Check out their website for the latest opening times and admission costs which are great value for money.  There are discounts for pre-booked parties of 12 or more.
South Lakes Safari Zoo - LA12 0LU
about 17 Miles

This is an amazing Cumbria attraction well known locally as well as nationally for how close you can get to the animals.  Described as the most interactive animal park in Europe it's well worth a visit if you are staying in the area.  Open from April to end October some of the highlights are the tigers, penguins, bears, hippos and rhinos.  At 2pm during certain seasons it's feeding time so don't forget to plan your day around this so you can watch the animals enjoying their feed.  Look out for seasonal events such as Halloween Zoo Boo (free entry for kids in fancy dress) and The Magic of Christmas.

Happy Mount Park - LA4 5AQ
about 20 Miles
Happy Mount Park has attractions for the whole family including several play areas, a miniature railway, crazy golf, putting green and trampolines, there is also a paddling pool where the little ones can splash around in the summer and a café where the adults can relax with a drink. During the summer months and especially during school holidays live music can often be enjoyed.
Lake District Wildlife Park - CA12 4RD
about 25 Miles
We love this day out in Cumbria where you're encouraged to "take a fresh look".  Some of the amazing animals you will get to see include the only Canadian Lynx in the UK and you will have the opportunity to help their Lynx Conservation Project.  The Asian Fishing Cat is also well worth a look - these cats are known for diving under the water and catching fish!  Other activities include fantastic flying displays and play areas for the little ones...
Bowland Wild Boar Park - PR3 2QT
about 35 Miles
Head for the Bowland Wild Boar park and we don't think you will be disappointed.  A popular attraction in Preston there is so much to do for the whole family.  From picnics, walks and wildlife to experiencing feeding the animals you are sure to have a memorable day out.  Also popular is the kids tractor play area.  For rest and relaxation the cafe is ideal serving hot drinks and snacks with a lovely view over the pond and wildlife feeding station.  The Forest of Bowland has been declared an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
Tullie House Museum & Art Gallery - CA3 8TP
about 36 Miles
This is a museum and art gallery in one and will suit those looking for an educational and cultural day out.  You can explore the fantastic art collection including Fine Art, Decorative Art and Textiles.  If you love nature then this aspect of Tullie House will appeal. The museum holds large and important collections of zoological, botanical and geological material. And for lovers of history there is plenty to wet your appetite here. Tullie House collects a wide range of historic materials including objects, ephemera (printed material), photographs and associated information files.  We think this museum and art gallery are excellent value for money as well.
