Landal North Lakes Reviews

"The villa exceeded expectations- it was fully stocked with all the equipment we needed to make a meal so we didnt have to take much with us. Heating was great when needed as the temperature dropped and we had a welcome pack of bread, butter and jam with milk in the fridge to get us started. Fabulous stay and exceptional cleaning- we had no complaints"
Diane - Sep 2025
"The lodge was simply outstanding"
Jamie - Aug 2025
"No water on my the Sunday. No communication. Was out most of the day, had to leave site."
Benn - Jun 2025
"The lodge was very clean; especially the bathrooms which is what I always look out for. The kitchens were well equipped having everything we could need. The decor was lovely - so cosy and homely. We loved the open plan kitchen and living area - it was so spacious! The beds were very comfy and huge as were the bathrooms."
Ahsma - Apr 2025
"Our Landal North Lakes review: Overall, this place was pretty good! The only minor issues were the tiny, shallow basin in the bathroom and the bath tap that felt a bit loose and wobbly. Nothing major though."
Oliver - Mar 2025
"We absolutely loved our stay! The lodge's stunning 180-degree views were breathtaking and the hot tub was perfect for relaxing after exploring. Very clean and well equipped too."
Emma Carter - Mar 2025
"Amazing very spacious lodge, with beautiful kitchen and living area, and two huge bedrooms. Beds are so big, and very comfortable! The views are so beautiful, either over lake or hills and Skiddaw.Everything there you need for a relaxing break, whatever the weather! Undercover hot tub is perfect. Smart tvs in every room, and there's a log burner in living area, too. Lodges are very warm. We've been five times over the past few years, and it's our favourite place to have a chilled break away!10/10 from us."
Janet - Feb 2025
"Nice friendly staff on arrival. Site really clean and easy to navigate around. Stayed in the Wellington which was amazing, very clean and tidy. Everything you need for your stay from dishwasher to all utensils. Plenty of shops around and nice beaches less than 30 mins away. Would definitely go back."
Lindsay - Feb 2025
"We absolutely loved this cosy cottage! The hot tub and log burner made it super relaxing. The hosts were so friendly too. Can't wait to come back!"
Laura - Jan 2025
"Went with my partner and 3 children what a lovely place, lodges are immaculate and very nice. Location is great just what we wanted secluded and quiet. Only downside was the restaurant wasnt open and only open a few days a week. Great place for the kids to explore and do a bit of fishing playing outdoors. And lovely place to relax."
James - Jan 2025
"This lodge is perfect for chilling out, especially during the festive season, love it!"
Claire - Jan 2025
"Really enjoyed our stay, would definitely come back."
Mark - Jan 2025

Verified Guest - Oct 2024
"We really enjoyed our stay at this lovely spot, tucked away in a peaceful, private setting. The owners were super friendly and always ready to help if needed, but they kept a good distance to preserve the privacy. The hot tub was a great way to unwind after cycling all day. A heads up though - its right under Stansteds flight path, so theres quite a bit of aircraft noise. Took us a couple of hours to get used to it, but it didnt ruin our holiday. Overall, a fantastic place to relax!"
Raj - Sep 2024
"We had an amazing time staying in Lawson for the first time. Its the oldest lodge on site, so its a bit less modern, but still really comfortable and well-equipped. Loved that it had everything we needed, including binoculars for wildlife spotting. The two ducks were adorable-definitely bring some duck food!"
Emily Carter - Sep 2024
"Amazing holiday lodge. Third stay here first time in Lawson. This was first lodge on site so is a bit less modern than the others but is still fantasticand has everything u could possibly need including a pair of binoculars to observethe wildlife. also has 2 very friendly ducks so bring duck food"
Ann frances - Sep 2024
"We really enjoy coming here year after year. Its perfect for a couple and the hot tub is a lovely bonus. Peaceful views over the lake are stunning!"
Ellie - Sep 2024
"We had an amazing stay at this cosy little cottage! Its really well equipped, so we didnt need to pack much at all. The welcome pack was a lovely touch, with all the info and menus clearly laid out. The owners, Sharon and Rob, were quick to reply to any questions, which was really helpful. Our dogs loved the enclosed garden and the hot tub was just the cherry on top. Thanks so much for a wonderful break - well definitely come back!"
Alexandra - Jul 2024
"Really enjoyed the experience, cant wait to visit again!"
Alex Morgan - Apr 2024
"Loved it, can't wait to return!"
Rachel Carter - Mar 2024
"We had a fantastic weekend stay! The place was just what we needed and were already planning our return. The pups had an absolute blast, especially with the underfloor heating-Luna was wagging her tail non-stop! The garden was perfect for them to run around in. Honestly, it was a great getaway for all of us. Cant wait to come back!"
Samuel - Dec 2023
"We booked this place for a dog walking getaway and it couldnt have been better. Lovely quality accommodation, just a short walk to pubs and eateries. Miles of fields nearby for off-road adventures and the dog loved it too!"
George - Sep 2023
"We recently spent a week at Brayton Lodge and honestly, it was lovely. The place was beautifully decorated and super well equipped - everything we needed was right there. The bright, clean space made it feel really welcoming. The hot tub and smart TV were definite highlights, adding a touch of luxury. Only minor gripe is that the second smart TV in the bedroom was quite small and not as nice as the main one, which was a bit of a shame. Overall though, we had a great stay!"
Sam - Aug 2020
"Really enjoyed our stay here, the lodge was lovely. Only downside was the beds being a bit tall, I had to use a chair to get in! Thank you!"
Lisa - Feb 2020
"Honestly, youve got to check this spot out! Once youve been, nothing else will quite match up - its just that good, youll be spoiled forever!"
Charlie - Jan 2020
"Really enjoyed the peaceful atmosphere and lovely lodges."
Michael - Aug 2017
"We stayed at Lawson and honestly, the spot by the lake is just perfect. Its so quiet and relaxing, youd think we had the place to ourselves. The hot tub was a highlight for sure. Only thing was, check-in instructions werent very clear, which was a bit frustrating, especially since we arrived on a Monday when the restaurant was shut. Luckily, a neighbour was really helpful. Overall, staff were lovely and friendly, making up for the small hiccup."
Lucy - Aug 2017
"Exceptional stay. Amazing views, really great, clean accommodation. A bit out of the way but that’s part of the appeal"

Paula - Jul 2022
"Absolutely incredible photos don’t do it justice"
Mandy - Jul 2022
"Absolutely incredible place"
Mandy - Jul 2022
"We have stayed in many lodges over the years and this is in the top one or two absolutely amazing and the pictures do not do it justice. Immaculately clean, very comfortable beds, every thing you need in a kitchen and a fan included. We always over pack but you don’t need to take kitchen cleaner, cloths, bin bags, dishwasher tablets enough for one a day. Milk, bread, butter and jam more than enough of these. Hot tub looked after on a daily basis. Surroundings are beautiful, well laid out with mounds between each lodge, so you are not overlooked and peaceful. Only niggles and not one that the lodges could change, the road or rail noise can be loud early in the morning, two of us were woken early on the first morning, but a set of ear plugs stopped one of us waking the following morning and the other slept through with no issues. I will say that other in our party didn’t wake and everyone said they felt they had slept better at the lodge than they had for a long time. You cannot hear the road at any other times. Shower pressure isn’t the best but does its job. Overall, brilliant stay and will be back again that’s for sure, may be even later this year. PS please use the chopping boards in the kitchen, there are lots of them and sadly not everyone has which is a real shame for the owners."
Verified Guest - Jul 2022
"Had a fabulous break away staying in the Darwin lodge. The only negative was having to leave! It was a real treat and we will be back."
Sarah - Jul 2022
"If Carlsberg did lodges, this would be it! Absolutely stunning lodge internally and externally. Everything is thought of for the stay, even down to all the utensils that you didn’t know you may need. One of the comfiest beds I have stayed in. Even the lights in the roof for the outside deck is that certain touch of luxury that has been thought of. Every little aspect of the stay has been thought exceptionally. The food at the restaurant was amazing as well as the butchers. Loved it so much I have booked again (as a surprise) for my husbands birthday in December for 3 nights again?"

Attractions Near Landal North Lakes

Here are some of the activities and experiences you can enjoy on your visit to Landal North Lakes. If you discover a worthy inclusion to this list on your hot tub break, please let us know and we'll add it so that other visitors can enjoy it too.
Lake District Wildlife Park - CA12 4RD
about 6 Miles
We love this day out in Cumbria where you're encouraged to "take a fresh look".  Some of the amazing animals you will get to see include the only Canadian Lynx in the UK and you will have the opportunity to help their Lynx Conservation Project.  The Asian Fishing Cat is also well worth a look - these cats are known for diving under the water and catching fish!  Other activities include fantastic flying displays and play areas for the little ones...
Tullie House Museum & Art Gallery - CA3 8TP
about 16 Miles
This is a museum and art gallery in one and will suit those looking for an educational and cultural day out.  You can explore the fantastic art collection including Fine Art, Decorative Art and Textiles.  If you love nature then this aspect of Tullie House will appeal. The museum holds large and important collections of zoological, botanical and geological material. And for lovers of history there is plenty to wet your appetite here. Tullie House collects a wide range of historic materials including objects, ephemera (printed material), photographs and associated information files.  We think this museum and art gallery are excellent value for money as well.
Ullswater Steamers - CA11 0US
about 21 Miles
This is an award winning Lake District attraction and they have been operating cruisers on Lake Ullswater for over 150 years.  There is no better way to explore the lakes than on water and you could even combine a cruise with a spectacular walk.  For great days out in this region then this attraction is highly recommended and will appeal to couples as well as families.  Corporate groups are also well catered for.
Mabie Farm Park - DG2 8EZ
about 22 Miles
Mabie Farm Park is a firm favourite. Ideal for families with younger children ,this family oriented farm park has lots of animals to meet and also offers Donkey Rides, Paddle Boats and Slides as well as Trampolines and Bouncy Castles. Kids can run around on the Soft Play Area while mum and dad relax in the Tea Room. There is also a Farm Shop onsite selling toys, gifts and fresh local produce including cakes and jams. Seasonal activities can also be enjoyed including a spookly tea and walk on Haloween. The Farm closes for the winter on October 31st.
Rydal Mount & Gardens - LA22 9LU
about 25 Miles
Rydal Mount & Gardens are wonderfully situated between Lake Windermere and Rydal Water offering breathtaking scenery. The home of William Wordsworth from 1813 - 1850 the grand home is now lived in by the poets descendents but parts of the house and grounds are open to the public. Why not take a guided tour and see the rooms where many of the famous poems were written. The gardens are beautiful at all times of the year but in the summer offer a spectacular display of colour. There is also a gallery and a tearoom. Discounts are available for group bookings.
Castle Douglas - DG7 1TJ
about 27 Miles
We also recommend a visit to Castle Douglas and the Treasure Hunt Treasure Trails. These treasure hunts are great fun for the whole family and are an entertaining way to explore a new town or village. Children will enjoy solving the clues whilst learning about the history of the area. The walking trail is suitable for wheelchair users and those with pushchairs so no one is left out of the fun.
Laggan Outdoor - DG7 3NQ
about 39 Miles

An outdoor activity center suitable for families. Featuring one of Europe's longest zip wires, jeep driving, grass sledging, archery, outdoor scooters. A mix of fun and adreneline rides and a lot more.
