Belan View Lodges Reviews

"The lodge was nice however we thought it was a bit small with 2 small dogs. I think 1 small dog would have been better.WiFi was an issue. It would not stay connected. It kept disconnecting every couple of minutes.Apart from the above the lodge is lovely but slightly smaller than what we thought from the photos. The views are amazing and the property is lovely and rural. The hot tub is fantastic and well looked after and the cleanliness was 5 star. Thank you for a lovely midweek stay."

"The lodge was spotless and smelt very clean and fresh with no pet odours at all.The lodge is perfect for couples with everything you need for a comfortable stay , the decking area was gated which was a plus for keeping our little frenchie safe and secure while we took a dip in the hot tub !"
Michele - Mar 2024
"We had a really very lovely, very relaxing weekend at Belan Lodges for our anniversary. The place is only a year old and has been very thoughtfully put together and kitted out. It really feels special and having a quality hot tub was great - even in the cold evenings we had! The hosts were super helpful and communicative and the area is a real get away. We don't usually re-visit holiday homes - but I can see us coming back here."
Andy - Mar 2024
"A perfect place to stay!Everything we needed was provided, including robes for after the hot tub and a welcome pack upon arrival. The owners met us to show us around and they were lovely. The lodge itself was immaculate and smelt so nice! The shower was so hot and powerful it was wonderful!"
Amanda - Feb 2024
"We had such a gorgeous week in our lodge. The owners were brilliant, very friendly and offering help if needed. The area is beautiful, views in every direction, sunsets were amazing especially from the hot tub. We would definitely return to these lodges when we plan to aes more of wales next year. 5 out of 5 for us!!!"
Sara - Dec 2023
"We stayed at Belan View Lodges this week and could not fault our stay. The lodge is beautiful and situated on a gorgeous farm. The owners have but 100% effort into making your stay something you will remember. The colour scheme in the lodge is beautiful and the smaller details of leaving pumpkin mugs and providing tea and coffee leave you feeling even more grateful. The hot tub is gorgeous and whilst it was a cloudy day and the sunrise wasnt to be seen. The view from our lodge was spectacular. Even though we stayed in the Pet lodge you would never have known! We had the opportunity to meet both owners. Both Dan and Laura are lovely and happy to help however they can. Dan has built the lodges himself whilst farming and Laura keeps them clean alongside being a busy mum and teacher. We could not fault our stay and will 100% be back. Just make sure if you do stay you download the what3words app to help you get right to the location. Diolch yn fawr Laura and Dan????????"
Maia - Nov 2023
"Brilliant & cosy cottage far enough out the way to be secluded but close enough to local amenities. Amazing hotub & bathroom with underfloor heating throughout tops it off. The owners, Rob & Sharon are wonderful! (And of course Bonnie) Will definitely be coming back again for longer ASAP!!"
Christopher - Apr 2024
"Beautiful cottage with hot tub and log burner. lovely hosts, peaceful, perfect for our mini break. Hope to return for longer soon!"
Emma - Apr 2024
"Really well equipped house, lovely and warm too which was so nice on a rainy December day! Bath was just lovely and a nice big shower! The property is under a flight path - this did not disturb us at all! Dont be put off! A great location for dogs who hate fireworks as it's in the middle of nowhere. Really beautiful, well converted property. Thank you! "
Phoebe - Apr 2024
"It was everything we wanted for our weekend away and we loved staying here. We'll definitely be back! Our pups absolutely loved the underfloor heating and had so much fun in the garden. In fact Luna came home with a strained tail and according to the vet it was because she was wagging it so much over the weekend!! Very happy pups and hoomans!"
Andrew - Apr 2024
"Lovely cottage. Great location for us. Away from the hustle and bustle. Great hot tub . Lovely helpful non intrusive owners. They have it just right!"
Simon - Apr 2024
"Absolutely loved how well maintained and equipped this cottage is. Plenty of dog walks right on the doorstep. Very friendly host, they were so efficient and communication was excellent. We enjoyed meeting the animals on the farm and the very curious pig penelope. Perfect escape for us and the doggos. Will definitely be back, brilliant value!! Highly recommend. "
Brooke - Apr 2024
"Beautiful property, spotlessly clean, well equipped and very comfortable, had a fabulous break, hot tub amazing x"
Libby - Apr 2024
"Very kind and considerate owners. Couldnt be better. Enormously helpful and extremely pleasant. Charming half-timbered cottage with a great strong shower, cosy kitchen & living room combination and very comfortable bed. Fantastic parking directly next to the rented cottage. Well heated and very charming, and spotlessly clean. Great walks across the fields to the local village of Thaxted and of course within easy travelling distance of the village, replete with half-timbered houses and windmill. "
James - Apr 2024
"We had a wonderful time in Goddard Mead. The cottage was very complete and there were walks on the doorstep. The welcome and stay was very warm. The owners are lovely people."
Annemieke - Apr 2024
"The owners Rob & Sharon, have gone to a great deal of work to sympathetically convert this historic building & we couldn't have had a warmer greeting from them both & of course Bonnie. Goddard's Mead has everything you need for a relaxing and comfortable stay. The location is in a great area of Essex and would recommend taking the time to wander around Thaxted and other villages/towns nearby to discover it's fascinating history & buildings. "
Carol - Apr 2024
"Such a lovely place to stay in a really beautiful, private location. The owners were really friendly and helpful, nearby if needed but without breaking that sense of privacy. The hot tub was perfect after a day of cycling! One thing to be aware of, the cottage is right under Stansted's flight path, and so there's a lot of aircraft noise. It only took us a couple of hours to get used to it and it didn't spoil our holiday at all, but something to be aware of if you're sensitive to noise. "
Inderjit - Apr 2024
"The lovely cottage is situated on a working farm, but is very private. The owners, Robert and Sharon, are delightful. The cottage is very spacious with good equipment in the kitchen and the bathroom. The bed is really comfortable. The garden is secluded; dog proof and with good furniture. There are numerous walks around. Thaxted has good restaurants. We liked The Star and The Maypole. The Swan and the Indian are not bad either. We thoroughly recommend this place. "
Richard - Apr 2024
"We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and Sharon and Robert were great hosts and made us feel very welcome. The accommodation had everything we needed and was clean, comfortable and secure for our dog Archie. The location was ideal too with plenty of walks to find and Thaxted and surrounding villages are lovely places to visit. We felt our batteries had certainly been recharged during our week and we enjoyed our relaxing break! "
Denise - Apr 2024
"Stayed here for a week from 15 to 22 July with our 2 mini daschund girls who thoroughly enjoyed there stay making new friends in the village of thaxted. The cottage is lovely especially the hot tub a bonus as it was the hottest days of the year so the water was coolled so it was more refreshing the hosts were very welcoming was nice to see there horses being taken to the fields each day you are on the flight path near stansted but I enjoyed watching the planes come in would definitely recommend "
Sharon - Apr 2024
"Lovely accommodation, very peaceful and relaxing and great for dogs as the garden is fully inclosed"
Fleur - Apr 2024
"Had such a lovely, relaxing break. Cottage was immaculate, equipped with everything you need and some lovely added extras too. Couldnt recommended more"

Rachel - Apr 2024
"Lovely friendly owners. Couldnt do enough when the power went down due to the storm. Very well equipped and clean. Very warm cottage. Our dog enjoyed the enclosed outside space and us the hot tub!"
Penny - Apr 2024
"Perfect venue for a quiet break away. Sharon and Robert have thought of everything to make your stay enjoyable and comfortable. Although this was our second visit it definitely will not be our last."
Georgina - Apr 2024
"Beautiful cottage in a lovely quiet location. Ideal to escape and relax. Hot tub was amazing and the cottage was immaculate with everything you needed. Lots of walks close by and within the village reach. Had such a wonderful time. Couldnt recommend enough."
