"Cabin was beautiful, hotter maintained daily. TV wasn't a smart tv that was the only let down. Cabin was spacious, well furnished and had lots of accessories like 4 slice toaster, scissors, care package with t towel, bin liner, foil etc. WIFI was fine despite the trees! Gorgeous canal walk near by. Lovely place."

"We had a lovely holiday at Penllwyn lodges. We booked the Squirrels Drey lodge and the lodge was clean, spacious, and had the added bonus of the hot tub. The location of Penllwyn lodges is a tranquil setting, and we visited some beautiful locations that were all within a short drive. The kids enjoyed walking in the woods and feeding some of the animals that live in the park. The staff are really friendly and helpful, and I would recommend this park if youre looking for somewhere peaceful"

"The cottage is lovely and just what you would want whilst on holiday. The bedrooms are nice and the living area is open plan and comfortable. The shower room is great as only a small lip to step into so anyone with mobility problems would be ok. Whole cottage was clean and has a cosy feel to it."

"Our Penllwyn Lodges review: We had a lovely break at the stablings. Would describe it as rustic rather than luxurious but had everything that we needed for a week, with 2 dogs. Definitely need a torch as pitch black on a night. Beds very comfortable, shower had a good spray and temperature. Tv was hot and miss, so take a book or game. No provisions if taking children, so take their favourite toys and games. The grounds are lovely and we walked our dogs around the pond everyday and fed the pig, ponies, goat, swans and birds. A very relaxing break, with a golf course next door. Staff very polite and helpful. Had a very chilled week with lots of local walks."

"We loved the peaceful vibe here, the surroundings are just lovely and really calming. The place was spotless and comfy, with all the essentials. Wed probably avoid peak times because of the play area nearby, but mid-March was perfect. Plenty to explore around, especially Lake Vyrnwy and Powis Castle. The Nags Head Inn nearby is perfect for a sunny pint and bite."

"Beautiful surroundings. Peaceful & serene.Clean & comfortable with everything you need. I wouldnt book the Hollies at peak times due to the playing field being so close. Thankfully mid March wasnt an issue. Plenty to do within a short drive. Lake Vyrnwy & Powis Castle definitely highlights. The Nags Head Inn nearby great for a drink & food in the sun."

"We really enjoyed our stay at the lodge. It had everything we needed and the outdoor space was super secure, which was perfect since we took our dog along. We always feel better knowing he's safe outside. The place had a charming rustic vibe, with plenty of wooden touches that made it feel cosy. Sure, some fixtures looked a bit tired and could do with a refresh, but nothing that spoiled our stay. One thing to note is the bathroom setup-it's advertised as having an en-suite, but really, its just a shower behind a curtain in one of the bedrooms, with only one toilet in the main bathroom. Not a big deal, just something to be aware of. Overall, we were happy with everything and would definitely come back. Just a bit of updating on the fixtures and itd be even better!"

"We had a lovely stay at this cosy cottage, tucked away on a working farm but still really private. Robert and Sharon are such charming hosts, making us feel at home right away. The place is super spacious, with all the kitchen stuff youd need and a comfy bed that was perfect after long walks. The gardens nicely secluded, dog-proof and perfect for relaxing outside. There are loads of walks nearby and Thaxteds got some great restaurants like The Star and The Maypole. Wed definitely return!"

"We had such a lovely stay! The staff member we spoke to was super cheerful and polite, which really made us feel welcome. The cabin itself was stunning - quite authentic with its charming, creaky floors, though it did add a bit of character. The only thing we thought could be better was the outside seating; the benches werent ideal for six people, so a small table and chair set might be more comfy. But honestly, it didnt spoil our trip at all. Wed definitely come back and even some of our friends are already thinking of booking too! Definitely recommend!"

"Even with no hot water, we werent bothered. Snow and wind outside, but relaxing in the hot tub made it all okay!"

"We stayed in this lovely lodge recently and really enjoyed our time there. The place was spotless, spacious and super comfy, with plenty of natural light. The hot tub was warm and welcoming after a day out. The views are stunning thanks to the elevated position and we loved watching squirrels and birds feed. Just a heads up for those with mobility issues-access can be tricky, with steep roads."

"Honestly, this place felt like a little slice of heaven. Nestled between the woods and a golf course, its so peaceful-perfect for escaping the chaos. We loved how private it was and everything we needed was right there. The bed was super comfy and the hot tub? Absolutely brilliant after a long day. Plus, we got visits from the cutest squirrels, which was a lovely surprise. We also took our little Chihuahua and Jack Russell along and they had a great time too. Well definitely be coming back soon!"

"We booked this place for a little grown-up getaway, celebrating a 30th birthday! Honestly, it was just what we needed. The hot tub was a proper treat and playing board games with some drinks made it even better. Staying in the Hawthorne Lodge felt super cosy-lights dimmed, fire flickering and the hot tub waiting for us. Felt really welcome here. Definitely recommending it and thinking of coming back sometime!"

"A beautiful and peaceful location, lodge had everything we needed and had a wonderful relaxed break. Only 1 thing to note accessibility the lodges are spaced around a very steep and windy road."

"This was our fifth visit to Penllwyn Lodges. Its a peaceful site with the lodges set in a wooded area.
When we first visited years ago the fishing lake did have fish in it but in recent times this seems to have changed. I asked at reception about the fishing and was told they no longer advertise it as a fishing lake."
