Penllwyn Lodges Reviews

"We loved the peaceful vibe here, the surroundings are just lovely and really calming. The place was spotless and comfy, with all the essentials. Wed probably avoid peak times because of the play area nearby, but mid-March was perfect. Plenty to explore around, especially Lake Vyrnwy and Powis Castle. The Nags Head Inn nearby is perfect for a sunny pint and bite."
Emma - Mar 2025
"Really enjoyed our stay, staff were friendly and the lodge was lovely."
Emma Carter - Mar 2025
"Cozy and charming stay"
Sarah Bennett - Mar 2025
"Always a pleasure staying here, love the peaceful vibe and cosy lodges. Highly recommend!"
Emily Carter - Jan 2025
"Our Penllwyn Lodges review: We really enjoyed our stay at the lodge. It had everything we needed and the outdoor space was super secure, which was perfect since we took our dog along. We always feel better knowing he's safe outside. The place had a charming rustic vibe, with plenty of wooden touches that made it feel cosy. Sure, some fixtures looked a bit tired and could do with a refresh, but nothing that spoiled our stay. One thing to note is the bathroom setup-it's advertised as having an en-suite, but really, its just a shower behind a curtain in one of the bedrooms, with only one toilet in the main bathroom. Not a big deal, just something to be aware of. Overall, we were happy with everything and would definitely come back. Just a bit of updating on the fixtures and itd be even better!"
Jamie - Jan 2025
"Beautiful lodge, super cosy and warm-perfect for relaxing getaways, we loved it!"
James - Dec 2024
"The cabin was charming, but the sofa corner was a bit too low and wide for comfort."
Sarah - Nov 2024
"Really enjoyed our stay at Squirrels Drey! Beautiful views, easy parking and the shower was fantastic. We felt very welcome."
Emma Clarke - Nov 2024
"We had a lovely stay at the lodge; it really had everything we needed. The views from every window were stunning and the peaceful walking area made it perfect for relaxing. Already booked for next year!"
Emma - Oct 2024
"Good vibe overall"
Jamie - Sep 2024
"The cabin was spotless and cosy, surrounded by peaceful nature. We loved listening to birds and squirrels-exactly what we needed for a relaxing getaway. Would definitely return."
Emily Carter - Sep 2024
"Honestly, the seating was pretty miserable both inside and outside. Definitely not comfy."
Emma - Aug 2024
"Very decent overall"
Sam - Aug 2024
"The lodge was perfect for a chilled evening, with a lovely view of the golf course. Everything we needed was there, including some DVDs and games-such a thoughtful touch. We loved it!"
Harper - Aug 2024
"Great experience, will return soon"
Emma Carter - Aug 2024
"The lodge was nice, but lacking a fence meant our dog kept escaping, which was a bit of a hassle. Still, he had a great holiday overall!"
Emma Carter - Jul 2024
"We've stayed at Murray Spa twice now and honestly, we really enjoy it. Its perfect for our little ones and the dogs, thanks to the balcony with gates - such a bonus! The only downsides for us are the view from the lodge, which overlooks the road rather than the stunning Welsh scenery and we do think the cleanliness could be better. That said, the staff are fantastic and always go the extra mile to make sure were comfortable. Well be back!"
Emma Roberts - Jul 2024
"We really enjoyed our stay here. The location was perfect and the staff were friendly and helpful. The accommodation was spotless, comfy and had all the little touches like tea, coffee and nice towels. The clothes airer was a bonus too. Very peaceful!"
Emma - Jun 2024
"We honestly loved our stay here. The lodge was spot on - super peaceful, well-equipped and even had towels for the hot tub. Couldnt ask for more, really!"
Emma - Jun 2024
"Really enjoyed our stay, the lodge was lovely and cosy."
Sam - Jun 2024
"Really enjoyed our stay here, lovely views and cosy atmosphere."
James - Apr 2024
"Very comfortable and well-maintained"
Emma Carter - Apr 2024
"We loved the lodge! The sofa was super comfy and the big TV made relaxing even better. More lights above dining would be great though, but otherwise, really lovely place!"
Emma - Mar 2024
"We had an absolutely fantastic time at the lodge! The location is stunning, surrounded by nature thats just breathtaking. The staff really go above and beyond - Emma kept us well informed when there was a power cut on our first morning, which we appreciated. The cabin itself felt so cosy and well-equipped; the kitchen had everything we needed, from a full cooker to a big fridge and all the cutlery. One thing wed suggest is a hairdryer - drying towels after using the hot tub was a bit of a faff, especially with only one radiator in the bathroom. Itd also be great to have a designated space for drying multiple towels and swimwear. Overall, we loved it and are already planning our next stay!"
Jamie - Feb 2024
"Great little place, very comfy and well-equipped!"
Emma Carter - Feb 2024
"We really enjoyed our stay at the cottage. Its got such a cosy vibe and the gas fire in the main room is perfect for chilly evenings. Everything we needed was there, including a spotless hot tub. Plus, the private drive and fenced garden made it super safe for our dog - a lovely getaway overall!"
Sam - Feb 2024
"Great time, would do again!"
Charlie - Feb 2024
"We had such a lovely time! The views are truly breathtaking and the cottage felt so cosy and well-equipped. The staff went above and beyond to make our stay special. Can't wait to return for another stay. Thanks so much!"
Emma Carter - Feb 2024
"6 of in Squirrels Drew last weekend - the cabin was amazing and the story about how it originated was amazing left us all a bit emotional - possibly the gin though ? the surroundings are magical - the hot tub wow ?? The staff - well what can I say ????? Over and above ?? A beautiful place to go to and be at peace - please if you get the chance to visit grab it - perfect retreat - thanks y'all for everything x"
Sarah - Aug 2022
"2nd visit absolutely perfect like last time"
Karen - Aug 2022
"Amazing third year in a row we have been gutted we can’t make it next year but will definitely book again."
Laura - Aug 2022
"A beautiful and peaceful location, lodge had everything we needed and had a wonderful relaxed break. Only 1 thing to note accessibility the lodges are spaced around a very steep and windy road."
Kerry - Jul 2022
"This was our fifth visit to Penllwyn Lodges. Its a peaceful site with the lodges set in a wooded area. When we first visited years ago the fishing lake did have fish in it but in recent times this seems to have changed. I asked at reception about the fishing and was told they no longer advertise it as a fishing lake."
Elaine - Jul 2022
"The most beautiful and idyllic place. I fist stayed here on a family holiday when I was 11, I am now 40 and still love this place!"
Tom - Jul 2022
"The camp is beautiful, loved the way that the lodges were all far apart from each other."
Anna - Jul 2022
"Really enjoyable stay. Would return."
Tracy - Jul 2022
"Perfect little cabins and beautiful Jacuzzis. Absolutely loved the area and the surrounding countryside - its outstanding!!!! Just bring your bug spray haha as it is in a woodland. Very slight noise from the road during the daytime but absolutely no complaints at all!"
Chanelle - Jul 2022
"Very amazing place we have a wonderful time Very amazing staff Reception very beautiful lady Emma xx Thank you so much for amazing holiday xx"
