Pool View Lodge Reviews

Alan - Jul 2025
We would like to say a really big thank you to Sonia & David. We had the most wonderful relaxing weekend for our Golden Wedding Anniversary. Everything was PERFECT, the lodge is absolutely beautiful, with the most amazing views. The hot tub was FANTASTIC and so were the views. The lodge was immaculately clean and appeared as though no one else had stayed in it.We have got the most wonderful memories of our weekend stay.
Steve - Jun 2025
Swarms of flies, we couldnt have any windows open throughout our stay. We couldnt prepare food until we spent two hours spraying and sweeping them up.I did mention fly screens but I wasnt listened to.A shame because its easily fixable. Luckily we had some fans, other wise it would have been unbearable. We werent shown how to use tv or cooker hob.The hob just went on & off no matter what we did, and we had to get rid of apps on the tv every time before we could watch it.The door handles were very loud and squeaky.Ensuite shower room was too small with no shelves for soap etc.Apart from that, a beautiful place.
Danielle - May 2025
Loved our stay at Pool View lodge last week. As soon as we arrived we we're greeted by David the owner who showed us around the lodge and explained how everything works and where everything could be found. Absolutely beautiful lodge with stunning views! Hot tub is spotless and maintained regularly throughout the week by David. The beds and sofa are so comfortable, and there was plenty of towels, blankets, toiletries, cleaning supplies, etc. They had lots of games for our daughter to play with. I could go on and on about how great this lodge is! We can't wait to go back
Christopher - Apr 2025
Could not be happier with the owners of the property ,very helpful and informative, the property was very clean and well equipped and the views were amazing, the hot tub was an added bonus, very relaxing, would highly recommend and we will return in the future.
Rachel - Apr 2025
If you are thinking of booking Pool View, do it! !! You will not be disappointed. We booked a last minute short break over the Easter Holidays with the glorious sunshine. Property owners went above and beyond and have truly thought of everything to ensure you have the most fantastic and relaxing break. You can tell how much the lodges and guests mean to them. A highlight of our stay was having a little tour of the farm and seeing all the spring babies. The property is spotless and feels luxurious. We only found out on the last day, by reading the guest book that their is a surround sound system, simply connect your phone via Bluetooth, it was great! Not sure it's mentioned in the listing. Furniture on the decked area is slightly different but much better in my opinion. We thoroughly enjoyed the hot tub. Stunning views. Peaceful and quiet, we had a perfect break to reset and to spend some quality time together. One tip for a day out, park in welshpool and walk up to Powys castle and cafe, stunning walk, reindeers and sheep everywhere. We will definitely be back. Thank you for such an enjoyable, memorable stay. Not one negative to say, only praise!

Apon arrival was greeted by Dave very polite, friendly and welcoming, showed us around the lodge and hot tub what's what etc where the shops were. The lodge was absolutely spotless was so clean, fantastic location the only ones over looking are the sheep haha. So peaceful would definitely come back again. Tip top
Tracy - Jan 2025
It was a very clean and well furnished lodge and the view and position of it was amazing. The host Dave was so friendly and helpful and even showed us all the cows on his farm which was very interesting. Had a really lovely stay.
Isaac - Dec 2024
Just wanted to say thank you so much for hosting me and my family throughout the past few days. We had an amazing insane incredible time and cannot fault the cottage! Everything was so perfect and well thought out! Hopefully we will come and stay in the near future again! Really appreciate it
Sarah - Dec 2024
Another amazing stay for Christmas, our 2nd visit for Christmas and the children are already asking if we can book for next year. The lodge is outstanding everything has been thought of including a special hamper with Christmas goodies. Sonia and Dave are so welcoming and friendly, on hand if you need them at anytime. Thanks again for another wonderful stay. Sarah and Family
Paul - Dec 2024
The lodge was amazing. Very modern & clean. Hosts were brilliant. We even had a lovely little touch of a Christmas tree in our living room. We couldnt use the hot tub only because of storm Darragh. Definitely would book this lodge again.
Amelia - Nov 2024
Sonia and David couldnt do enough. The place itself was exceptional and would definitely return.
Peter - Oct 2024
I wish I could give more stars for this amazing property but the app only allows 5. Shame. Anyway, to the reviewPrior to arrival, I had a lovely message asking what time I expected to arrive for key handover. Lovely gesture, makes this feel less transactional and way more welcoming. Was asked to message 10 minutes before I arrived, which I duly did from a farm up the road that has a milk machine and donkeys!! More on that on a different review. Arrived at a very well directed and signposted lodge and what a view. David was waiting, and was very patient. David showed us around the lodge, and the surrounding land. Everything was well pointed out both inside and out, and full instructions provided for all things that needed them. Nothing was a problem, and both David and Sonia were on hand if anything was needed, which again is a lovely touch. David even showed us around the other lodge as it was unoccupied, and it's just as beautiful. The lodge itself was gorgeous, so well designed and laid out. Very well decorated. Everything you could possibly want is provided, including a lovely welcome basket. Very considerate. The view from the large bifold doors is outstanding, even on a rainy day! The last day looked like something out of silent hill! Privacy from the hot tub was excellent and the tub itself was immaculate. Probably the cleanest one I've seen. The rooms in the lodge are all excellent, perfectly sized with good storage. Massive bathtub in the main bathroom and large shower in the ensuite. The sofa and indeed all the chairs were very comfy. Excellent kitchen facilities and a huge fridge and freezer.Outside, plenty of places to sit and enjoy the view. Hot tub had speakers built in too! Extra luxury, but to be honest the sounds of the working farm were much nicer to listen to. On that subject, I took a little walk and met some of the young calves. How nice it was to give them chin scratches!I honestly cannot thank David and Sonia enough, what a place to stay. Even had the sweetest message after leaving! Would love to return, this place is an absolute gem, as are its hosts.
Jackie - Sep 2024
Pool View is a perfect holiday lodge there is all you want and more! The location has the most amazing views and is so peaceful whether that's sitting on the patio with a drink or enjoying the amazing hot tub. The lodge is spotlessly clean and so many extra details that sets it apart from other holiday lodges. David and Sonia are great hosts and nothing is too much trouble. We can't wait to visit again for the third time!
Hayley - Sep 2024
We had a fantastic time at pool view would highly recommend! David and Sonia couldnt do enough for you, perfect hosts! Lodge is stunning and so are the views, very relaxing and quiet, the hot tub was also fantastic. Will definitely be back!
Jonathan - Aug 2024
Wow! This place is absolute paradise! David & Sonia are the perfect hosts and you really get the feeling that they have put so much thought, not only into the lodge but also into the surrounding grounds. It's like a little piece of Welsh heaven. The Lodge is extremely private with beautiful views of the countryside set through the large fronted windows and veranda. We stayed as a family of four for a week and we found the area secluded enough to enjoy the peace and quiet but not more than an hours drive away from some fantastic family days out. Welshpool is just a short drive down the road for shops and restaurants and there are also plenty of local shops just five minutes away for any necessities. If you are looking for something in this area, then look no further. Absolutely perfect! We will definitely be going back as this place is difficult to beat.
Andrew - Aug 2024
Stayed here August 16th to 23rd ,what can we say from the moment we arrived Dave made us very welcome took us into the lodge and showed us around pointing out the dishwasher etc and the even had a washingdrying machine ,the attention to detail throughout the lodge was exemplary . The view from the folding doors was breathtaking, the icing on the cake was the hot tub to one side of the lodge which made it very private we relaxed in it till 11pm watching the darkness descend on us due to there being no street lighting or any traffic it was simply bliss.Met Sonia just before departing, they are both very passionate about the lodges and what you to have the best experience possible.Enjoyed my chats with Dave he told me all about the farm and its history. The lodge was spotlessly clean decorated to a very high standard , it exceeded our expectations, perfect location to unwind and enjoy the countryside whilst still having plenty of amenities close by Pubs supermarkets etc can recommend the Tumble Inn for the best Sunday lunch. We can not wait to return in the near future.
Robert - May 2024
Excellent property situated on a working farm, this is the best lodge that we have ever been in, everything is perfect. David & Sonia are great hosts they go out of there way to ensure that you have a great holiday.Thank you once again David & Sonia for the extra help that you gave us.Rob & Kath
Gillian - May 2024
We enjoyed our stay very much and would not hesitate to return. The property was as described and supported by previous reviews, spotlessly clean and furnished to a very high standard. The patio area at the front was an ideal place for relaxing and taking in the wonderful scenery. The hot tub with built in Bluetooth speaker was private and a very welcome addition after a long walk and for stargazing at night. Unfortunately bath robes are no longer provided due to previous guests taking them which is understandable, we took our own. All in all it was everything you could want from a luxury property and my only minor gripe would be the lack of some pasta bowls, and a wider, larger range of pans for cooking.
Lucy - May 2024
The lodges are simply beautiful stylish, comfortable and well equipped set in stunning, tranquil surroundings. If you cannot find your happy here, you must be impossible to please! The hosts are as lovely as the lodges, and nothing is too much trouble.
