About Storybrooke Cottage

Storybrooke Cottage is a deluxe lodge sitting right on the River Glen in Surfleet Seas End in Lincolnshire. This cosy one-bedroom retreat offers a peaceful countryside escape where the rivers Glen and Welland meet.

The top riverside location means you can fish directly from your garden. Watch swans glide by while sipping your morning coffee. Hire paddleboards or kayaks and explore the waterway. The local pub is just minutes away on foot. Perfect for a pint after a day of doing absolutely nothing. Or heat up the wood-fired hot tub and soak under the stars. Inside you'll find a sun room with underfloor heating, a spacious lounge with wood burner, a galley kitchen with all mod cons and a double bedroom with river views. The bathroom features a claw-foot bath and separate shower. Outside there's decking, a lawn leading to the river and parking for two cars. An outhouse houses laundry facilities and bike storage.

Nearby attractions include Spalding market town (15 mins), historic Stamford (30 mins) where Pride and Prejudice was filmed, Lincoln Cathedral (50 mins) and the Woodhall Spa Dambusters Museum (40 mins).

Storybrooke Cottage comes with a luxury welcome hamper for both you and your dog. Couples love it here. It's spotlessly clean, perfectly equipped and the owners are nearby if needed. Your only problem? You won't want to leave.

Storybrooke Cottage Reviews

Alex - Oct 2024
The cottage was lovely, spotless and comfy. We enjoyed scenic walks with the dog nearby, then chilled at the pub with good beer. Food and service were spot on!
James - Oct 2024
We had a lovely time at Storybrooke Cottage. The place was super cosy and clean, with everything we needed - the welcome basket was a nice touch! It’s peaceful and perfect for relaxing, but there are also plenty of spots nearby to explore if you’re feeling adventurous. We’d definitely come back another time!
Fiona Carter - Aug 2024
We had an absolutely lovely stay at this cottage! It had everything we needed and more - sky TV, radio, plus treats for our dog, Tails. The place was spotless and fresh, with a lovely hamper full of top-quality breakfast goodies. Waking up to the water just outside was perfect, surrounded by nature. Out front, there are great walks and a pub serving good food. The hot tub was a bonus too! Honestly, for a relaxing fishing break, it’s hard to beat. My partner loved it - even the fishing was five stars, apart from the pike not biting!
Sarah - Jul 2024
Lovely little place, cozy and well-equipped, highly recommend!
James - Jul 2024

We loved our stay at this lovely riverside cottage. It’s super clean and the owners are really helpful, offering a warm welcome pack. The enclosed garden is perfect for dogs. My husband enjoyed fishing for tench and roach. Already booked for next year, definitely recommend!

We've visited this place twice now and honestly, it's just lovely for a peaceful getaway by the river. The rooms are modern, spotlessand really comfy. Parking is secure and there's plenty of space. Jason, the owner, always checks in to see if we need anything, which is nice. We also got a lovely welcome hamper - such a thoughtful touch! Thanks to Jason and Cheryl, it’s always a pleasure coming here. Truly a perfect spot for a relaxing break.
Emma - May 2024

The cottage had everything we needed, super cosy and well-equipped. Loved unwinding in the hot tub by the river after a long day. The Ship Inn nearby was a bonus!
Sam - Jan 2024
We really enjoyed our stay at this cosy little cottage. Perfect size for two and in such a lovely spot with plenty of walks nearby. The place was super clean and well stocked with everything we needed. Jason, the owner, was really helpful and made sure we had a great time. The pub just up the road was handyand another just a few minutes’ drive away. The wood-fired hot tub was fun, though it took some getting used to-especially when the hose froze in the freezing weather! Watching the seals right outside was a real highlight too.
Emma - Oct 2023

We had a fantastic stay at this cosy cottage in such a peaceful, untouched spot. Jason and Cheryl truly go above and beyond as hosts - nothing was too much troubleand the welcome hampers for us and our dog were a lovely touch. The place was spotless and well-stocked, even with little things like a disposable shaving kit in the bathroom. Honestly, it’s perfect for a laid-back riverside getaway. We’re already planning to come back next year!

We had the most amazing stay at Storeybrooke Cottage and will definitely be returning next year! The cottage itself is really cosy and made us feel completely at home. This cottage is absolutely lovely and in such a great location! The new owners are really friendly and attentive. Any issues that popped up were sorted out quickly. Since they took over in October, they’ve made quite a few improvementsand there are more on the way! Plus, the fishing was pretty good too. We’re definitely hoping to come back in the summer.

Natureland Seal Sanctuary - PE25 1DB
about 29 Miles
Awarded the Lincolnshire Family Attraction of the Year award in recent years this fun day out is recommended. You can see seals and penguins, as well as other animals in the popular pets corner.  Feeding time for the seals and penguins is the real highlight of the day. Entertainment, education and conservation are the main aims of this attraction. Natureland's work with abandoned baby seals has become known worldwide and it's carefully researched rearing and treatment program is now used by many other rescue centres.
The Royal Forest of Rockingham - LE16 8UW
about 38 Miles
The Royal Forest of Rockingham in Northamptonshire is the perfect place to enjoy a range of outdoor pursuits including Walking, Cycling, Nature Trails and Horse Riding. The beautiful medieval hunting forest offers areas of ancient woodlands, agricultural land and peaceful stone-built forest villages. The forest is also abundant with wildlife including Deer, Squirrels, Butterflies and Birds.
Rushmoor Country Park - GU10 1ET
about 39 Miles
Located in Louth in Lincolnshire this is an ideal attraction when you want to get out in the fresh air and explore. There are many animals to see including ponies and piglets which the little ones love.  There are also some amazing birds from hawks and falcons to owls.  Most aspects of this attraction are included in the admission cost and as well as wandering around you get to hold and feed the animals too.  A real highlight are the micro pigs which are just like real pigs but in miniature.  Fully grown they are around the size of a spaniel!  If you get hungry then you can take your own picnic to the picnic areas or head for the tea room selling delicious food and children's meals too.
