Calthwaite Hall Lodges

Cumbria » Calthwaite, Nr Penrith

Calthwaite Hall Lodges are the ideal choice if you're looking for a stylish and tranquil escape in the Cumbria region.  Part of the hand picked Autograph Lodge Holidays Collection you can be sure of an immaculate lodge in a gorgeous location.

The location itself is quite unique being nestled in the grounds of the stunning Calthwaite Hall which dates back to 1837.  The surrounding lawns and paddocks are home to adorable miniature Falabella ponies.   It's been described as a "a perfect luxurious secret escape" and we couldn't agree more.

The lodges themselves are befitting of the setting with sleek and high spec interiors and of course private hot tubs complete the picture. Choose from 2 and 3 bedroom lodges with Flatscreen TV and freeview, well equipped kitchen with dishwasher and WIFI in each lodge.  You'll also receive a complimentary welcome pack.

The Calthwaite 4 Lodge is one of our favourites with a stunning modern interior, outdoor decking with great quality garden furniture and an outdoor hot tub with views over the countryside.

You can walk to the local pub in Calthwaite Village for a relaxing drink or head out to explore the local Sandstone villages and quaint market towns

We stayed for 2 nights and had a really good time. The lodge was immaculate and very luxurious, the hot tub and terrace were private and well maintained. We met the owners who were very helpful and welcoming. The local pub which is also owned by the same couple was welcoming and nice. Highly recommended. Thank you for a nice weekend.

We had a wonderful break at Calthwaite Hall Lodges. The owners were very friendly and helpful and the grounds were beautiful. We now know that delicious meals including breakfast can be had at The Globe Inn across the road, (also owned by the same management). The only disappointment we had was that the hot tub was not very private, and where it was located down the side of the lodge at the back did not give any nice views whilst in it. Penrith, Pooley Bridge and Hadrian's Wall historical points all within easy reach of the location.

What an absolute gem of a place. Beautiful clean lodges in a great place for exploring. We had a fantastic weekend and have booked to go back! Tony is very hospitable and showed us different lodges all of which were immaculate. We travelled with friends and a small dog who equally enjoyed their stay. The hot tub was great for relaxing in the evening. Thank you to Tony and the staff, looking forward to August!

Loved the lodge, it's big and comfy and has everything you need. The grounds are pretty with lots of birds and animals to see. The local pub is very friendly and has a good restaurant and a beer garden. Looking forward to visiting again x

Recently spent 2 nights in one of the new pods. Overall we were pleasantly surprised by the facilities available to us. Although the pod is small, it includes everything you need for a short break. The shower was better than most hotels I've stayed in. There were 2 hobs and microwave and a sink which was all we needed. The fold away bed was surprisingly big and comfortable with a decent mattress. The hot tub was good and was clean and treated before our visit. The only minor downside of the hot tub was that it wasn't as private as it could be but don't let this put you off. Staff were pleasant and came to explain how to fold down the bed and use the hot tub etc. There isn't much to do close to the location other than a local pub that has a decent food menu so you have to drive to get to decent walks and activities. It's quite close to the motorway so you can hear the noise but once the hot tub is on you can't hear it. I would recommend this place and would definitely go again however, I would not take young children as I think they would be bored. If you are after a relaxing getaway where you want to do absolutely nothing like we did then this is the place to go to.

The only thing that was wrong with the lodge was the fire didn't work, so when it chilled off the boiler really had to work overtime!

Relaxing weekend. Very nice clean lodge. Staff very nice good food at there pub as well.
Excellent place with great staff.
We book this the week before we went and didn’t research much. But didn’t need to everything was great till look like new. We will book again. Lovely surround areas
Excellent accommodation Well prepared
Exceptionally clean lodge and very well maintained site. Hot tub was perfect and maintained every day lovely and warm. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Had a couple of meals at the local pub which was absolutely fantastic wish we ate there every night. Highly recommend the lasagne and beef burger but could honestly say nothing would disappoint you. Only wished the site had lodges for 6 people as we would have loved to bring our grown up children absolutely highly recommend this site. Thank you
We had a lovely stay at the lodge staff very helpful and friendly. My young girls loved feeding the animals and going to see the horses every morning, the hot tub was brilliant and a nice treat when we got back from our day out. We will definitely be booking again soon
A lovely lodge. Beautiful surroundings looking out over a farm, all the shops & things to do are a bit of a drive but all worth it. The lodge was lovely & clean, the pub down the road we ate in twice because the food was so good & the prices even better.
Fantastic site, very quiet with beautiful peacocks wandering the grounds. No noise heard at all except for the rooster! The Globe Inn across the road also owned by the lodge owners and well worth a visit for dinner (a voucher for two free glasses of wine was included in the lodge!)
Lovely comfortable and clean lodge with a private aspect. The plots are well spaced with open views. Just off the M6 so very easy to access with lots of beautiful countryside on your doorstep.
We stayed here with our 4 year old and 2 year old. It was a great location for exploring the lakes and not too far at all from Scotland. The lodge was spotless. The owner kept the hot tub very clean every day and emptied the water completely for every new guest. The Globe pub across the road provided great food and we got a 20% discount. There was a great childrens play area just 5 mins walk away which the owner told us about. We do a lot of lodge breaks and this was one of the best.
Lovely lodge, very clean and quiet location. Hot tub was fab. We had a lovely week. Would definitely recommend
A great place to come and unwind. Location is secluded and you have to travel to nearest town for activities. However, lodge facilities are excellent and of high quality. The addition of a hot tub and the fact that you can bring dogs is a bonus.
