We love the Contemporary 4 View Lodge which offers amazing views over the quarry lake. The lodge is spacious and luxurious with a fantastic outdoor decking area housing garden furniture and a bubbling outdoor hot tub. The interior design and finishing touches are outstanding. The Contemporary 6 lodge is also a lovely option and pet friendly too!
For a really unique holiday experience, the safari tents are brilliant! The Safari Tent Simplex sleeping 6 has one double bedroom, one twin and one ladder from the living room leading to a double cabin bed which kids will love!
The safari tents have a real sense of adventure about them with their canvas tops and yet have all the luxuries of the lodges. They also come with outdoor hot tubs, ideal for relaxing and taking in the views. The Safari Tent Duplex offers more space and can sleep up to 8 guests.
For days out you could head to Carlisle Castle which is a magnificent sight full of history. Mirehouse and Gardens in Keswick are also a great place to visit with access to Bassenthwaite Lake, walled garden, maze and adventure playgrounds for the little ones.
This is an amazing Cumbria attraction well known locally as well as nationally for how close you can get to the animals. Described as the most interactive animal park in Europe it's well worth a visit if you are staying in the area. Open from April to end October some of the highlights are the tigers, penguins, bears, hippos and rhinos. At 2pm during certain seasons it's feeding time so don't forget to plan your day around this so you can watch the animals enjoying their feed. Look out for seasonal events such as Halloween Zoo Boo (free entry for kids in fancy dress) and The Magic of Christmas.
