Jamies Cragg Holiday Park

Close to bustling market towns, pretty villages and the stunning Yorkshire Moors, Jamies Cragg Holiday Park is a superb location for a secluded, relaxing break. It's a few minutes' walk from the River Derwent, 20 minutes drive from York, and there's a beautiful woodland walk just behind the park. There are also some really good local pubs within easy reach.

There are a number of really lovely picnic spots around the park - and plenty of river and lake fishing. The village of Welburn has loads of interesting shops, pubs and a delightful Artisan bakery. Castle Howard is just a few miles away and there's lots to do in York, including a visit to Sutton Park and York Minster, England's largest Gothic church.

These contemporary lodges have outdoor hot tubs and are well designed and spacious. Limestone Lodge sleeps four - it has one double bedroom with ensuite, a twin room, shower room and a light and airy open plan living/dining/kitchen area. Patio doors lead to a verandah with a private hot tub and garden furniture.

Plan some great days out in North Yorkshire. York Dungeons certainly aren't for the faint-hearted, set in dark, musty cellars with life size tableaux of deaths and persecutions!

Date of stay: 4th May 2018
fabulous cabin and great price. we could have stayed longer!
staff were very helpful, we had a problem with the hot tub on the first night, even though we let the warden know out of hours, it was sorted straight away and re-filled and hot enough to use by lunch time the following day.
only slight down fall was the busy main road as the cabin is right at the top of the park, maybe get some more conifers or big trees in to block the noise abit more :-) but id certainly book here again.

Limestone lodge was very well equipped and lovely to stay in, could do with more doing to the outside (side of lodge) as it is currently mud and bark
Overall great though

Date of stay: 14th July 2017
The lodge was clean, well equipped and comfortable. It was surrounded by trees with a great hot tub and outdoor eating area. It is also in a good place for visiting the surrounding area. The only downside for us was the traffic noise. The lodge is situated 50 yards from the busy A64 so there is no escaping the traffic noise which is almost constant. We book lodges hopefully to have some peace and tranquillity and sadly this was not the case. So purely for this reason we wouldn't return.
Hannah, Manchester
Date of stay: 23rd June 2017
There was a tv in every bedroom and the front room, there was also a DVD player in the living room.
The two twin bedrooms are lovely and the beds can be pushed together to make a double, the main bathroom was very spacious and had a bath and shower. The main bedroom was lovely with an en-suite bathroom and heated towel rail.
The beds are very comfy and at the start of your stay there was fresh towels on each bed and clean bedding. These were not changed throughout our stay but it really didn't bother us. And if you wanted clean towels there is a washing machine outside.
Overall I can't really complain about anything other than the wine cooler being broken and the oven being gas which I wasn't used to, however these aren't major things and wouldn't put me off going back here.
There is also a lovely working electric fire in the front room and central heating.

Lovely holiday park, communication & helpfulness of Janette, prior to and during stay was excellent. Fantastic accommodation with everything you'd need for a great stay. Would definitely recommend!
Jill
Lovely place, a little close to the roadside however the road noise did not impact our stay. Great facilities , helpful staff. Hot tub was cleaned upon request. Would visit again
Craig
The log cabin is probably one of the best we have stayed in. Very spacious massive lovely hot tub. The only small issue was the location. Right next to the busy A64 Scarborough road. The road noise didn't bother me as i go to bed to die, however the wife is a light sleeper so found the noise disturbing. However, the road is usefull for going to Malton on the very regular bus service. We did this a couple of times and left the car at the park so we could do a mini pub tour of Malton. Also some pans could have done with checking for cleanliness. However to balance it up there is a good range of kitchen utensils pots and pans. The location within the park is ideal. Set away from a very cramped caravan area. The only reason we wouldn't return to Jamies Cragg is because we can't take our little dog with us.
Kelly
Lovely and peaceful
David
Great lodge cleanand fully equipped.great hot tub.lovely break .visit to edan camp a must very interesting
Janet
Fantastic. Beautiful lodge. Lovely extremely helpful staff
Amy
Enjoyed the break away. Lovely lodge only thing is the hot tub was dirty and needed new chlorine by Sunday morning so smelt of stail water. Lodge is lovely though just needs that extra care with the hot tubs. I wouldn't of noticed but we've been too other lodges before that get cleaned everyday so for the hot tub to be not cleaned at all during our stay made a big difference too our opinion.
Nicola
Beautiful lodge - extremely comfortable, very well maintained, spotlessly clean with a well equipped kitchen ..... like a home from home !! Staff on site were first class - extremely helpful but not intrusive The only (very) small concern was some road noise from the A64. This, however did not impact the overall enjoyment of the holiday which was very good

Situated in Malton in North Yorkshire this has to be one of our favourite family days out.  It's a theme park and zoo all in one stretching over a massive 400 acres. With thrilling rides for the very daring like Cliff Hanger, Corkscrew and Kumali, there are also more gentle rides for the little ones such as Frog Hopper and Helitoys.  Family fun attractions include the 4D cinema, the lost river ride and the Little Monsters Den of Mischief. Check out their website for seasonal events which take place throughout the year and you can also gain more information about the zoo.  Flamingo Land is a resort as well as a theme park so you can also book accommodation there.

Betton Farm Visitor Centre is the ideal attraction close to the North Yorkshire coastal town of Scarborough. This animal farm has all the cute farm animals you would expect to see and will appeal to younger children especially.  A great place to both play and learn we think the Betton Farm Visitor centre is great value for money.  Check out their website for the latest opening times and admission costs.  Some of the highlights of the day might include meeting Sofie the Shetland Pony and Henry the goat, as well as the pot bellied pigs called Porky and Hammy.

If you are enjoying a lodge break in the Yorkshire Moors and Coast then a day trip to the Scarborough Sea Life and Marine Sanctuary highly recommended. This centre is one of the regions most popular attractions and is educational as well as fun. Visitors will enjoy a journey beneath the waves, meeting many strange, beautiful and fascinating creatures of the deep. As well as mighty sharks and beautiful rays guests can get up close to some more common creatures including star fish and can also meet the otters, seals and penguins at feeding time. The site also has children's play area and picnic tables as well as a restaurant and souvenir shop. Family tickets cost £46.80 but the Tourist Information Centres in Scarborough, Whitby or Filey often offer fantastic discounts.
