Mark, Leeds
Date of stay: 17th September 2018
We stayed in a lodge in the Abbots Green part of the site. The lodge was spotless and felt almost like new. The lounge area was cosy and inviting. The kitchen had everything we needed to self-cater evening meals and cooked breakfasts. The beds were comfy and bathrooms clean. We brought our own travel cot and there was space in the twin bedroom to put it up in there. It wasn't warm enough to sit out on the porch for long - but we noticed it was all fenced in with gates so is ideal for anyone with small children to keep captive!

No complaints really. Our only very minor quibbles would be the lack of hand soap in the lodge (we forgot to bring our own) and the cups provided in the kitchen look nice but are a really bad design with a tiny handle near the top (almost impossible to carry without spilling). My advice would be to stock some big ol' mugs in the cupboard for a proper Yorkshire tea!

Wonderful relaxing holiday on a beautiful site - immaculate grounds and the added bonus of a dog friendly play area

Date of stay: 14th July 2018
Great holiday in a beautiful, peaceful holiday park, providing an ideal base to travel throughout Yorkshire. Lots of things to do and places to visit nearby. Cannot recommend York House Holiday Park enough and am sure that we will be returning.

Date of stay: 6th July 2018
We loved this lodge and park so neat, clean and very quiet. If you are wanting a holiday with provided entertainment and lots to do on site then this is not for you. If you want calm and tranquillity and to look to yourself for your holiday enjoyment and plans then this would suit. A good location for Thirsk, The Yorkshire Dales and Yorkshire Moors and easy to travel to and to go visiting from. There were few if any children on site which suited well but we stayed during term time and during the week so could be different depending on school holidays/weekend. We wouldn't hesitate to use this park again and we would invite friends who seek a quiet holiday to do the same.
Date of stay: 30th June 2018
This is the first time we have been to York House Country Park and we were very impressed.
Our only 2 criticisms were: Lack of umbrella on the decking, which meant it was too hot to sit out there.
There was no clock anywhere in the lodge, not even on the cooker!!

Date of stay: 30th September 2017
Ideal location, visited Malham Cove, Whitby, York, Leeds, Fountains Abbey, Hartlepool and both sites of the National Railway Museum all within reach.

Caravan park was just perfect for me and good access, no narrow lanes. Cafe on site, but didn't use as was always out before it opened. Thirsk close by for your supermarket shopping or eating out.
Allan, Burstwick
Date of stay: 8th September 2017
Very relaxing, which was the reason for our stay.

Thanks to all
Tony, Cheltenham
Date of stay: 2nd September 2017
Helmesley is lovely, and the walk to Reivaulx Abbey ruins along the Cleveland way is well worth the short climb in the middle of an otherwise straightforward walk. The Abbey is stunning, and the views of the castle are great on the return walk.
The North York Moors railway is wonderful, and the villages of Masham and Middlham make great stops on the way to Leyburn on the edge of the dales. Of the two brewery visitor centres in Masham, make time for the Theakston's as it is kept a traditional pub feel, whereas the Black Sheep was more commercial.
The park, accommodation and service were all first class making this a wonderful holiday destination.
Andrew, Northamptonshire
Date of stay: 11th August 2017
Delighted with the quality of the accommodation. We stayed in a modern 2 bed caravan which was immaculate on arrival.
Andrea, Penicuik

Date of stay: 26th May 2017
Well equipped and clean caravan. Site is very well laid out and kept immaculate.
Great location within 30 minutes of York and next to the north Yorkshire moors. The manager Sam was very welcoming and helpful throughout. Would recomend to families/couples
Upon arrival I met Sam who with her husband manage the park. During the week that I spent there she was always smiling, friendly and helpful. The park is kept very clean and very well cared for and is set in quiet and tranquil surroundings. I feel that the park would probably benefit from an on-site shop as I believe the shops in Thirsk are the nearest. However, my stay there was very pleasant.
A lovely relaxing break, really nice quiet park very well maintained, very helpful pleasant owners and staff, lovely countryside setting, near shops and takeaways.
First holiday with our new puppy and we couldn't have picked a better place to stay. Great facilities for us and the dog 🐕
Stayed here in a "Superior Caravan" for a few days whilst visiting the nearby gliding club. The Caravan had all that you would want, was spotlessly clean, and a very reasonable price. I didn't use the site facilities, but the staff were very friendly.
Immaculately kept park, all facilities well maintained, staff welcoming, caravan spotless and had everything you could possibly need.
It was a lovely quiet site. It was a shame we went out of season so the coffee shop wasn't open as much. It would be lovely to have the option of a hot tub on some of the lodges? Maybe a small shop where you could buy essentials as the nearest shop was quite a way out. Didn't realise that check in was until 5pm as email seemed to say after 7pm you needed to arrange it before hand.
We had a fantastic stay at York House Country Park. Staff were so friendly and could not do enough for you. Accommodation was lovely and clean (We stayed in a standard caravan) and was a great base for our travels around York. Will definitely be back!
We had a great break with peace and quiet.Perfect getaway for relaxation.
Excellent lodge within a gated community.
First class site with friendly staff and excellent cafe
Relaxing break although mobile reception was an issue and Wi-Fi is only available in the reception and games room.
When of the best holidays I've had. Nice quiet site, helpful and friendly staff everything very clean. Not a place to go if you want a pool, gym and amusements on site. But if you don't want these it's perfect.
This is a brilliant site, very well maintained and lovely surroundings. The caravan was very clean and well maintained. The staff on the site were very friendly and helpful, I can't wait to go back.
