Cumbria offers some of the finest fishing in England from March to November with pike, roach, perch and eels. Ullswater holds exceptional perch stocks and wild brown trout, with the mayfly hatch in late June being particularly productive.
Hall More features both a 1.8-acre trout lake and mixed coarse fishery managed by WADAA. Many lodges provide fishing equipment hire and local expertise to help you make the most of your angling adventure.

Free fishing is available from 1st March to 15th November from the jetty and foreshore of the park – you just need a valid rod licence. Fish for pike, roach, perch as well as eels.
The lake is the only one in the Lake District officially called ‘Lake’ and provides a peaceful fishing experience away from busier waters. Local anglers report good catches of pike throughout the season, with the shallow areas near the lodge particularly productive.
When you are not fishing, try your hand at canoeing, cycling or simply enjoying gentle walks through Dodds Woods where you might spot ospreys. The market town of Keswick with its shops, restaurants and attractions is just 6 miles away, whilst Cockermouth with its historic castle and Wordsworth House is 5 miles in the other direction.

A popular destination for fishing enthusiasts is the WADAA maintained fishery that sits next to the park. The facility boasts a well-stocked 1.8-acre trout lake with rainbow and brown trout, plus a mixed coarse fishery with carp to 16lbs+, F1 carp, bream to 6lbs, roach, perch, eels and gudgeon.
Both lakes have been extensively stocked and feature new platforms and disabled angling provision. Day tickets and seasonal memberships are available for residents.
If you want a little more action, Hall More’s sister park Fell End is only a short walk away. Here you will find a modern leisure facility with an indoor swimming pool and gym, as well as a bar and restaurant. This location provides the perfect balance of tranquil fishing and modern amenities when needed.

These lodges boast breath-taking views of Skiddaw, Sale Fell and Binsey that are all within a few miles. The site is discretely nestled on the north shores of beautiful Bassenthwaite Lake.

I think this lodge is the most peaceful fishing in the Lake District, with the River Derwent running through the property providing additional angling opportunities. The park has received the David Bellamy Gold Award for Conservation, ensuring the fishing environment remains pristine.

Ullswater offers exceptional fishing opportunities and lake holds perch, pike, and wild brown trout, with the brown trout season running from 15 March to 30 September.
The highlight is the mayfly hatch in late June. For coarse fishing, perch on worm and pike can be caught all year round, with the most productive time between May and September. Local anglers report the best fishing times are between 1pm-3pm and during evening hours. A boat is recommended for serious fishing, available for hire at nearby Glenridding.
Walking, cycling, sailing, climbing and canoeing are just some of the activities available within the surrounding area. Within easy reach are attractions such as the Rheged Visitor Centre, The Ullswater Steamer, and gentle walks to Aira Force Waterfall.
