Date of stay: 28th July 2017
This is a great base to visit lovely places in north Yorkshire. The Golden oak lodge was very clean and cosy. We stayed in lodge 11 which was a great location. Could of had a few more activities for smaller children. Shop is a little expensive and check in was short and sweet. You can pay to use Wi-Fi throught your stay if you wish which in my opinion should be free. We would return.

Lovely cabin with everything you need, after a long day out it was wonderful to relax in the hot tub although sofa's can be a little narrow when trying to relax and watch TV which is a very small fault.

Date of stay: 24th August 2015
Cabin was great, really nice and the hot tub was fantastic, a great treat at the end of the day. Ok so the cabins on the outside are a little weathered (little) but this just adds to the charm for me, it's in the middle of a forest so wasn't expecting anything more. The wifi could be free but we didn't mind paying for it although bit expensive. Really can't fault out time at Keldey forest even the storm one night whilst sitting in the hot tub just added to the experience.
Kirsty, Glasgow

Family of four with 9 and 13 year old visiting in July 2015 staying in Keldy Oak 2.
Lodges grouped together in beautiful forest area but positioned for privacy. A member of staff showed us around the lodge and how to work heating and hot tub. Lodge was stunning, very well thought out with plenty of storage space and equipped with everything needed. Open plan kitchen, dining and living area with log burning stove.Gorgeous bedroom, comfy beds, quirky feature window over bathtub in ensuite. Lovely solid oak furniture. The couch was a bit of a squeeze for a family of 4 not so comfy while watching a movie but this is being super picky and certainly wouldnt put us of going back.
Great hot tub , which was cleaned and serviced daily. Nice little extras - toiletries, dressing gowns and slippers provided.
Weve had a lovely relaxing stay and our family would definately recommend this lodge and hope to come back soon.
Sharon, Fife
Date of stay: 17th July 2015
This was our first Forest Holiday, cabins were immaculate, having been newly refurbished. A very quiet, tranquil location and the hot tub is highly recommended. The forest ranger walk through the forest was very interesting and my teenagers enjoyed the hands on interaction.
We will definitely be returning to a forest holiday.
Nicola, Fife
Date of stay: 10th July 2015
The cabin was very clean, spacious and modern. I never sleep great when on holiday but i was pleasantly surprised with the comfort of the beds. The peace and quiet was amazing. I read a few reviews before booking about how the outsides of the cabins were a bit dirty but I didn't see this, anyway what do people expect...it's a log cabin in the heart of a forest!!There was lots of space which felt like home. Would have liked an oven guide though as we ended up grilling our pizza...gutted :(
Anthony, Preston
Date of stay: 2nd March 2015
Was clean. Better blinds needed on Master bedroom. A lot of light was coming through in a morning.

Kath, Middlesbrough
Date of stay: 24th November 2014

Date of stay: 1st September 2014
Excellent all round and looking to book again for half term
Date of stay: 8th August 2014
We took DVDs as it did say there would be a DVD player but there wasn't one the cabin was cleanish well probably clean for most people but as I had a toddler too I wanted to just give everything the once over and found the wooden floors to be dirty but you are in a Forrest so this was to be expected I'm maybe just being picky we did want the golden oak for extra comfort but these were all booked the silver birch was good value for money though with plenty of space for our family of 4 probably more too it was modern the layout was perfect and I loved the location too some parts looking a bit shabby tiles in shower etc could do with grout replacement but fine enough wasn't disappointed again just letting others know what to expect will try something up a range next time
Debra, Sunderland

Chris, Glasgow
Date of stay: 23rd May 2014
A couple of garden chairs/ loungers would be nice to relax outside in the evening.
Date of stay: 19th May 2014
The large windows could do with some shades for main sunny periods.
Mick, Southyorkshire
Date of stay: 25th April 2014
Cabins brilliant , everything you need , all clean and in working order , comfort great , plenty of room and they keep warm .
Julie, Darlington
Date of stay: 14th March 2014
The only bad point is the oven didn't seem to work too well, and had a awful smell when turned on - a steam clean may be a good idea. The frying pan was past it's best, didn't fancy bits of the pan in my egg - so did without.
Neil, Sutton In Ashfield
Date of stay: 14th February 2014
Great accommodation. Had everything that we could have wanted.
Lynn, Leeds
Date of stay: 10th February 2014
Golden Oak 3 is a 6 birth Log cabin. The kitchen is stocked with everything you would need to make a meal for 6 people. Beds are really comfy and plenty of hot water for 6 to have a shower. En suite upstairs room needed a shower option as well as the bath but not too much of a problem with a shower to use downstairs.
Sharon, Castleford
Date of stay: 7th February 2014
Hot tubs were in front so others could see would have preferred at back or some shrubbery around to feel more private
Clare, Pontefract
Date of stay: 31st January 2014
Excellent, a little tired in places but overall great. Really disapointed to see the prices for the next 12 months however have increased so much which puts this out of our price range.
Kate, Stockport
Date of stay: 24th January 2014
Well equipped clean and very comfortable.
Date of stay: 3rd January 2014
Both my husband and I really enjoyed our stay, the hot tub and the sauna made the holiday. The only small criticisms would be that there did not appear to be a way of changing the temperature on the hot tub and it could have done with being a degree or two hotter. It also wasn't clear what kitchen ware would be available in the cabin and there was no dishcloth or sponge to clean dishes/spillages. However there was a small shop on site to buy dishwasher tablets etc. The TV/DVD/CD facilities could have been better. Like the fact they had put Christmas trees up in the cabins, this made it feel very festive.
Susan, Oldham
Date of stay: 30th December 2013
Loved it perfect place for a weekend getaway hot tub was great we had my family and there boyfriends three couuples and there was loads of space
Hot tub not working on the first night dissapointing xx
Had a great time all the staff went the extra mile, nothing too much trouble , helpful and friendly.
Love going to keldy lovely surroundings and once we arrive on a Friday rarely move the car until we leave.
Our second time here could not fault the place we have booked up again for next year
Loved it! Absolutely beautiful setting and the lodge was amazing 😀
Mrs W
Great location for walking and cycling - children and dogs loved the forest and afterwards a lovely relaxing time in the hot tub.
Overall an excellent breakaway
Log cabin, hot tub log fire and lots of snow, me my fella and the dogs just like some thing out of a romantic film .
Very quiet, walking and biking on the doorstep. Depends what you want from your holiday but we enjoyed it. The cabins well equipped and clean, warm and cosy.
It is an expensive option we would not have gone without nhs discount a beautiful place calm and quiet My littlest loved the forest ranger time with robin although we were happy with wifi / connection only in the cafe £40 for a wifi charge for 5 days is extortion ....virtually being held to ransom if you want that option..as no note of this is booking or if there is it is not stressed enough our holiday great as not fussed about wifi

Fun Days Out near Keldy

about 7 Miles
Situated in Malton in North Yorkshire this has to be one of our favourite family days out.  It's a theme park and zoo all in one stretching over a massive 400 acres. With thrilling rides for the very daring like Cliff Hanger, Corkscrew and Kumali, there are also more gentle rides for the little ones such as Frog Hopper and Helitoys.  Family fun attractions include the 4D cinema, the lost river ride and the Little Monsters Den of Mischief. Check out their website for seasonal events which take place throughout the year and you can also gain more information about the zoo.  Flamingo Land is a resort as well as a theme park so you can also book accommodation there.
about 11 Miles
Located in Harwood Dale Village, North Yorkshire we think this attraction makes a superb family day out and couples will also enjoy the nature walks in the area.  There are 6 nature walks in total surrounding the farm so walkers and lovers of the outdoors will be in their element. Some of our favourite walks include the Spring Flowers, Pond and Village walk which takes around 35 minutes, and the Meadow and Trees walk which takes one hour.

In high season the site is very popular with families and offers organised activities for children including tours, talks, crafting and animal encounters. Betton Farm Visitor Centre is the ideal attraction close to the North Yorkshire coastal town of Scarborough. This animal farm has all the cute farm animals you would expect to see and will appeal to younger children especially.  A great place to both play and learn we think the Betton Farm Visitor centre is great value for money.  Check out their website for the latest opening times and admission costs.  Some of the highlights of the day might include meeting Sofie the Shetland Pony and Henry the goat, as well as the pot bellied pigs called Porky and Hammy.

If you are enjoying a lodge break in the Yorkshire Moors and Coast then a day trip to the Scarborough Sea Life and Marine Sanctuary highly recommended. This centre is one of the regions most popular attractions and is educational as well as fun. Visitors will enjoy a journey beneath the waves, meeting many strange, beautiful and fascinating creatures of the deep. As well as mighty sharks and beautiful rays guests can get up close to some more common creatures including star fish and can also meet the otters, seals and penguins at feeding time. The site also has children's play area and picnic tables as well as a restaurant and souvenir shop. Family tickets cost 46.80 but the Tourist Information Centres in Scarborough, Whitby or Filey often offer fantastic discounts.

Situated in the Ripon area of North Yorkshire this popular theme park makes a fantastic day out for the whole family.  The more daring will love the big and thrilling rides such as Raptor Attack, The Ultimate and Trauma Tower.  For the little ones there are some excellent attractions such as Flying Camels, Dodgems and a Magic Wheel.  Toddlers will like the Dragon Boats and the Lightwater Express amongst other things. There are over 40 rides and attractions in total and we think this is excellent value for money too.  If you book your tickets in advance online you can save even more money and beat the queues.
